El-Jefe had posted this over on HVI:I'm genuinely confused about the transfer portal. I thought once the UNC door closed, the portal window time was up? Or is the portal window merely a suggestion at this point![]()
The first rule of the transfer portal is there are no rules.I'm genuinely confused about the transfer portal. I thought once the UNC door closed, the portal window time was up? Or is the portal window merely a suggestion at this point![]()

The deadline is to enter into the portal. I believe AJ never officially enrolled so he never officially left the portal. There is no deadline to exit the portal, at least I don't believe so.
Lawrence Phillips, Richie Incognito, and similar miscreants from Nebraska Football's past are no more relevant to Nebraska Wrestling than one particular person is to PSU Wrestling.Probably a good fit. They have past experience with dealing with delinquents on their football team.
Trev Alberts was a loud mouth punk too. I was referring to the athletics department in general.Lawrence Phillips, Richie Incognito, and similar miscreants from Nebraska Football's past are no more relevant to Nebraska Wrestling than one particular person is to PSU Wrestling.
Trev Alberts might have been an exception, but he is no longer Nebraska AD.
@Tom McAndrew I didn't check closely before I started this new thread and now see you have a long-running 2025 Wrestlers movement; portal thread. Feel free to delete this thread if you think it best. Gaylon

AJ Ferrari Commits To University of Nebraska - FloWrestling
AJ Ferrari has announced his commitment to wrestle at the University of Nebraska next season.www.flowrestling.org
When asked about what weight he will be competing at next season, Ferrari did not rule out a move up to heavyweight. "That's between me and the coaching staff right now," Ferrari said. "I'm about 230 lbs right now."
He's not in the portal WS made a mistake. The portal closed weeks ago and he wasn't in then either. I expect AJ at HWT.Returning AA McDanel is in the portal (or at least was earlier today). If he stays, then Ferrari's going up. HWT Andrews was not good last year -- losing record, went 1-4 at B10s, and DNQ.
If McDanel leaves, then Ferrari could go either weight but the lineup is better with him at 197. Allred is the only other returning 184/197 with a career winning record. The other guys at 184/197 are far worse options than Andrews at HWT. Nebraska has 2 good prospects at 174 (Araujo and Eise), but neither looks like a good option at 184 if Allred were to move up.
Of course, with Ferrari weighing 230 and continuing to lift, he'll probably be more effective at HWT. The cut to 197 would be brutal, and most of the HWT contenders this year are on the lighter side.
Name me one athlete while at PSU that was arrested eight times and continued to play.
I don't believe so interviews with athletes rarely discuss academics. AJ has good grades he may even get a 4.0 at NebraskaFor any who watched or listened to this #content, were there any mentions of: admission to the academic portion of the University?
Odd thing is Kurt only has 29 matches in 6 years. So he should be fresh and have a solid yearPlease make the 7-year thing end …
