Because Ryan wouldn't let him wrestle 174 until Kharchla returned from injury and they could hold a wrestle-off for the job.
I’ll probably listen to the Basch pod tonight sometime. I’m interested what Rocco says about 174/184. I’m sure they’ll cover it.
Not one mention of Ryan. Mentioned Cbus and the guys but not the coaches.
EDIT: NM, he mentioned coaches at the end but mostly Jordan.

With Cannon’s emergence, this isn’t a major upgrade at 157 so I have to assume either Cannon or Chittum is going up to 165 to challenge Gallagher who has been a major disappointment
Former Penn State wrestler Alex Facundo picks transfer destination; where will he compete next?
Penn State lost former starter Alex Facundo to the transfer portal last week. He’s now picked where he will wrestle next.
Guessing that will be the likely destination for all PSU transfers moving forward...
What do we think facundos upside is? Just curious we never got to see much of him. Freestyle seemed to suit him better
As I recall, his only year as our starter was not quite up to our expectations… but he probably is an upgrade to almost any other lineup!
And I also remember being surprised by how well he did in the freestyle trials last summer… teched(or equivalent) someone …I think Levi!
At 165 I would think highest around 4th. Probably similar to bearclaw.
In addition to the lineup challenges, Facundo had an injury that set him back if I recall. Hard to fall behind and crack our lineup. Seemed like a good kid, never heard any drama. Wish him well.

Word on da Street is Braedan Davis in da portal
There is some traction to this after hearing from two folks that I know close to the program.
Braedan had a rough year with injuries (knee, skin infection after the Scooter accident) and potentially is looking for a fresh start with Ono on board.
The chatter on Braden potentially entering the portal was before 4/1.
I hear that OkieState provides their athletes with street legal horses instead of illegal scooters.

Sounds like Ferrari initiated any contact. And it's probably a way to squeeze bigger offers from other schools.
