As of today, Torvik has us at 105th in the country and 18th/last in the Big Ten. This is still without Josh Reed on the roster, and it's still up in the air where that one will land (we still list him on the roster today). Adding Reed would push us up another 10-15 spots or so I'd think. Bart has us with the 82nd ranked offense and the 149th ranked defense. I'm optimistic that our defense will be better than he has us (though it's possible that the offense won't be quite that good).

Such a weird season...a month from the opening game, and teams throughout the country still don't know who exactly they'll have available.

Torvik isn't listing Reed on our roster...but with what we have, I'm surprised at his scoring projections. If I had to guess today, I'd go with Byers as our leading scorer this season, however Bart's model has him 5th (again, even without Reed). He's got Prkacin leading the way with 16.4 ppg.

That shows what I've often said in response to people who say we don't have anybody who can shoot 3s. Shooting has more to do with the kind of shot do you get than it is your pure ability to shoot. Are you squared up to the basket? Do you receive the pass where and when you want it? Are you able to step into the shot?

Most DIII shooting guards can make 70% of those shots in practice. Gametime is totally different.

Pomeroy dropped his preseason ratings. Ken's assuming that Josh Reed is on the team with his rating. He's got us at 87th overall, 17th in the Big Ten (two spots ahead of Northwestern). 70th offensively, 99th defensively. He projects us to go 15-16 (excluding our 2nd game in the Bahamas) and 6-14 in the conference.

Heading into the Bahamas trip, we are at 95% (or more) to win 5 of the 6, and 41% against Pitt. With our brutal non-conference schedule, we're actually at least 95% to win every game except Pitt, Memphis, and St Joe's.

Torvik has added Josh Reed to our squad and moved us up to 97th (we still don't know how that one will go). Bart also has us going 15-16 (6-14), again pending our second game in the Bahamas (in which we'll likely be a small underdog).

Once again, Kraft's name came through as one of the culprits for lack of investment. He needs to be fired for AD malpractice. Hopefully Rhoades and staff can mold an exciting, competive team.
