Man these guys are good. Just win after win, not sure what can be done with this behemoth of a juggernaut.Iowa in first………..
141 R16- #6 Braeden "Scooter" Davis vs. #11 Dario Lemus (MD)
We've moved beyond the seeding fiasco & are ready to roll! It's time to remind the rest of the wrestling world who reigns over this realm & who the current Kings of the B10 conference are. We are! It's time to demonstrate our dominance! The battle for the 2026 B10 throne begins...with Scooter!
Period 1:
Here we go! Tying up & hand fighting. Lemus reaches for a leg, but Davis fights out of it. Davis tries an underhook, but no luck. Davis shoots, but Lemus circles away. Davis works a 2 on 1 & takes Lemus near the edge. He shoots & gets in deep on a single. Lemus counters & they go out of bounds, no scoring. Tying up & hand fighting. Lemus reaches, Davis counters & they go out of bounds. Head tapping & tying up. Lemus shoots. Davis counters & takes Lemus out of bounds. Lemus gets a stall warning. Circling & head tapping, 90-sec left. Davis presses forward. Lemus gets in deep on a leg. Davis rolls. Lemus keeps working & gets the other leg. Davis is locked around the waist & rolling. He comes out on top, but they go out of bounds, no scoring. Head tapping & circling. Davis presses forward & shoots, but doesn't get there. Lemus reaches for a leg & they go out of bounds, 30-sec left. Davis pushes forward & drops in deep on a leg. He gets the other & comes behind for the TD, 3-0, then rides out the period. 3-0 Davis, +14-sec RT
Period 2:
Davis takes down. He sits out, like he does. Lemus tries to suck him back. Davis counters, but gets caught on his back. Lemus locks up 4 NF, 4-3 & is working for the pin. Davis fights for a reversal, 5-4. Davis is riding heavy, 1-min left. Lemus tries a roll, but Davis blocks him off. Davis gets Lemus bellied out. Stalemate & restart. Lemus is still down. Davis is looking a little winded. Caution on Lemus. Caution on Davis. Lemus works to his feet, but Davis takes him out of bounds, 9-sec left. Davis rides out the period. 5-4 Davis, +1:04 RT
Period 3:
Lemus takes down. He sits out & leans back into Davis, but Davis keeps working & gets him bellied out. Lemus works back to his base, but only for a moment before he's bellied out again. Davis isn't doing much from top, but he's smothering Lemus. Davis is looking for a turn now, but Lemus fights out of it & they go out of bounds, restart, 52-sec left. Lemus is still down. Davis has 2:13 in riding time now. Lemus gets to his feet, but Davis takes him out of bounds, restart. Lemus is still down, 44-sec left. Lemus pops to his feet, but Davis trips him back to the mat. Lemus pops back to his feet, but Davis horses him back to the mat & they go out of bounds, restart. Lemus pops to his feet, but Davis brings him back to a quadpod. Lemus rolls, but Davis stays with him & rides out the period. Davis adds a riding time point for the 6-4 decision.

Say what you want about Davis, but he sure is exciting to watch! Never a dull match with this kid.
Van Ness will get Ryder Block of Iowa, a 4-1 winner over Illinois' Gioffre, in the quarters at 149.
Davis is always an interesting adventure.
Not the type of dub that gives you confidence in his chances to AA, but it’s also all part of the Scooter experience
