SVN better Improve in the 1st period. He is not Wrestling like #1 in the Nation. Hopefully people are talking with hIm.
I really like him, but he scares me. It’s probably because I like him so much as a person that I get concerned. I’m sure he feels confident in his ability to win these types of matches. Trust the process. Right?

As Cael tells them, be comfortable being uncomfortable. They all believe it and are confident with it.

Who will each Penn State wrestler face first on Saturday night?

All matches are semifinals unless otherwise noted. And, a reminder: The number beside each wrestler’s name is his Big Ten seed, not his national ranking.

125 pounds: No. 1 Luke Lilledahl, Penn State vs. No. 4 Jacob Moran, Indiana (WBF)

133 pounds: No.1 Marcus Blaze, PSU vs. No. 5 Drake Ayala, Iowa (4-2)

141 pounds: No. 6 Braeden Davis, Penn State vs. No. 12 Danny Pucino of Illinois (consolation round two) (never faced)

149 pounds: No. 1 Shayne Van Ness, PSU vs. No. 4 Lachlan McNeil, Michigan (9-1 MD)

157 pounds: No. 2 PJ Duke, PSU vs. No. 3 Kannon Webster, Illinois (never faced)

165 pounds: No. 1 Mitchell Mesenbrink, Penn State vs. No. 5 Andrew Sparks, Minnesota (never faced)

174 pounds: No. 1 Levi Haines, PSU vs. No. 4 Carson Kharchla, Ohio State (6-4 2025)

184 pounds: No. 1 Rocco Welsh, Penn State vs. No. 4 Brock Mantanona, Michigan (8-1)

197 pounds: No. 1 Josh Barr, PSU vs. No. 5 Luke Geog, Ohio State (11-2 MD)

285 pounds: No. 4 Cole Mirasola, Penn State vs. No. 1 Taye Ghadiali, Michigan (5-1 loss)
Added recent matches in parenthesis. All results are this year except where noted

Block clearly stalled and backed straight out of bounds. He should have been hit with a stall when he was on the edge on all fours and wasn’t moving also. However, to act like SVN should have just steam rolled over him is silly. Block was a big recruit. He is talented. Kasak beat him by 1 point at Dapper Dan coming out of HS. Block has been injured for most of his time at Iowa. He’s a good wrestler.

141 pounds: No. 6 Braeden Davis, Penn State vs. No. 12 Danny Pucino of Illinois (consolation round two)
Davis' path:
- UNR Pucino (6-5 this year) -- win clinches 8th or higher
- winner of 7 Olivieri (16-1) vs 28 Porter (12-7). Oliveri lost 8-0 to Hardy. Davis beat Porter 24-10 in the dual. Win clinches 6th and with it a trip to NCAAs. Loss drops him to 7/8 match, with top 7 qualifying.

If he drops to the 7/8 match, he will get either
31 Ragusin (11-6), same guy who lost to Undersized Desmond
27 Clark (12-5)
32 DeKraker (13-9), Davis beat him 9-0 in the dual

Is it me or is shane wrestling way to high in his stance i remember him being low. If he's wrestling that close to people he needs to get low wtf he's walking right into a single leg
It's not you. He is. They need to get back to the lab and fix this soon.

It’s not “the fix”. A couple things at play here. A) Mendez is very good and is deserving of the award. B) PSU has too many guys for consideration and they will steal votes from each other. C) They can’t give every award, every year, to PSU guys.
You forgot the most important factor:

4) PSU hasn't advertised its wrestling camps in WIN Magazine, because Cael didn't know that's how the game is played.

Mendez = 10 is correct if he gets 2 pts for the bye, which I don't think is the B10 scoring rule.

I might be wrong about that rule, and really don't care enough to look it up because the B10 team score is about as meaningful as Ohio State's recruiting national titles. We've had plenty of years where we lost B10s and 2 weeks later won NCAAs.
