Jones optimistic about Cowboys, likes 'what we put together'

On the eve of the Dallas Cowboys' first practice of training camp this week in Oxnard, California, owner and general manager Jerry Jones expressed confidence in his new-look roster, and believes his club is skilled enough to compete for the Super Bowl.

"And if you contend, you've got a real chance of being in the game," Jones said during a more than 40-minute state of the Cowboys press conference on Tuesday. "I think those are the kinds of things that I don't believe are outlandish or a reach to expect. So, that's a successful season."

I’m more inclined to expect jerrah to get a reach-around than reach a title.

The Jalen Carter contract may be a risk, but it's a risk the Eagles had to take

The Eagles on Tuesday made Carter the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history, locking him up with a four-year extension.

“It’s a lot easier to help an immature kid who’s a stud on the field become mature than turn an average defensive tackle into a superstar. When you have a talent like Carter with an unlimited ceiling, you take that risk. You have to.”

Spot on from Roob.
