Tom, pn the toe out of bounds one, a questeion. To me, it looked like his feet were within bounds (vertical plane of the mat edge) but up in the air, and came down in bounds. If that were the case, how would the rule apply?

Good question, and I'll have to check the college rules.

In HS (the rules I know forward and backward), it's not a vertical plane. In addition, up until last season or this season (I forget which), in HS if the offensive knees came down OOB, you'd hold a second on the call, for if the toes then touched down in bounds it was a TD. That was changed, so it's no longer a TD in HS. I'll add that this situation (in HS), is also a factor when the defensive wrestler is OOB, but one support point of the offensive wrestler is in bounds, when the defensive wrestler is in NF criteria, if the offensive wrestlers toes come up (if they were the supporting points) off the mat, even though they are within the cylinder it's now stopped for OOB.

Let me check the college rules and complete this reply.

197- #1 Josh Barr vs. #32 Blake Schaffer (KENT)

Period 1:
Schaffer is tall & skinny. Here we go. Circling, tying up & hand fighting. Barr drops to a leg & elevates it. He sucks in the other leg & finishes the TD on the edge, 3-0. Out of bounds & restart. Schaffer is still down. Barr works a tight waist ride. Schaffer works to his feet. Barr grabs an ankle & trips Schaffer back to the mat on the edge. Out of bounds & restart. Schaffer is still down. There's no riding time clock. Schaffer comes up. Barr looks for a cradle, but Schaffer gets the escape, 3-1. Barr shoots, but can't get there. Schaffer shoots & gets a leg, but Barr quickly works behind for another TD, 6-1. Out of bounds & restart. Schaffer is still down. The ref is talking to Barr about something before the period starts, but I'm not sure what that is about. Barr goes back to the tight waist ride. Schaffer works to his feet & gets the escape, 6-2. Barr shoots, but Schaffer blocks him off. Barr shoots again. Schaffer gets a stall warning & Barr finishes the TD, 9-2. Barr quickly gets Schaffer bellied out again. He turns Schaffer & gets 2 NF, 11-2, before Schaffer rolls back to his belly. Barr rides out the period. 11-2 Barr

Period 2:
Barr takes neutral. Barr presses forward & picks an ankle, then trips Schaffer to the mat for another TD, 14-2. Out of bounds & restart. Schaffer is still down. The riding time clock is back & Barr goes over 2-min, then cuts Schaffer, 14-3. Tying up & circling with some hand fighting. Barr shoots, gets a leg & finishes another TD, 17-3. Barr looks for a turn, but Schaffer fights out of it. Barr gets Schaffer bellied out & hooks a leg. Schaffer works back to his base, but can't get much further. He tries a roll, but Barr stays with him & rides out the period. 17-3 Barr, +3:14 RT

Period 3:
Schaffer takes down, but I don't know why. Barr quickly gets him bellied out again. Barr is looking for a cradle, but no luck, so he cuts Schaffer, 17-4. Barr reaches for a leg, but no luck. He shoots again, but can't finish. Schaffer shoots, Barr counters & finishes another TD for the 20-4 techfall. That's how we do it!

Josh Barr TECH Blake Schaffer 20-4 (5:43)
