I saw someone else mention that in the thread during the Session, but I didn't have time to address it.

As best as I can tell from reading the NCAA Rules for 2025-26, that's not the rule. The only time riding time would stop if stalling is called is IF it's called when the top wrestler is in the read standing position.

I usually mention caveats in situations that are unique to college, like this. I'm not a college ref. In HS, riding time is not kept or awarded, so it's not something I have experience with. My knowledge of it is limited to what's in the college rule book, what I've observed, and the many discussions I've had about it with college refs (pretty much all of the college refs that live in my region also ref HS, so I see them a lot, and ask them questions about college rules that I can't figure out on my own).
I looked it up. As you mentioned, here is the rule: Riding Time (Rules 4.5.13 and 5.1.4). The riding time shall stop when, in the rear standing position, the offensive wrestler is penalized for stalling while wrestling action continues.

Since Marcus had so much riding time to work with, I think his coming up to his feet was a mistake. Maybe try a sit out like Davino does or just work for hand control from your base on bottom? Getting to your feet with no hand control is a recipe for disaster. Marcus let that one slip through his fingers. I'm really bummed we didn't get to see him against Jax, as I think his style works well against Jax.

I doubt you know much about the entire family.
One likes to drive fast and almost killed someone in a head on crash making an illegal pass. One sold pictures of his a$$h0le to men on the internet. One wrestles most of his matches from one knee. The sister sells magic crystals or some such thing online. And good old Unc likes to brag about his schlong. What is not to know and love about this All-American family?

Sour grapes ...constant complaints...welsh unfair too?
Just to quantify or qualify, I have wrestled, reffed wrestling, coached wrestling, have attended PSU wrestling since the 1960s, have been to multiple NCAA championships going back to the 1980s. The TD reversal is IMO the second worst call I have ever witnessed. The first being the Ian Miller v Realburto scoring debacle where Miller beat Realburto in regulation only to have the scoring table and officials miss scoring an escape for Miller and send the match to OT where Realburto scoring a winning TD. Then despite the coaches arguing the score was incorrect and being told by the ref to sit down and shut up, the NCAA acknowledged the screw up shortly after the match was over but would not reverse the winner because the coaches "didn't appeal in a timely manner."
The referee on the mat called what he believed to be the winning takedown. Stopping the wrestling at that point was the proper step. This stopped the wrestling action. Okie St challenged the call and based on another official's subjective evaluation of what is appropriate reaction time reversed the call. In that particular situation, the only way that call is appropriately reversed is for an objective reason.

So with that said let me tell you what I find pathetic and irritating. Some dimwit who obviously posts on the wrestling board very, very little, finding the time to lecture this board with what they find irritating and pathetic. So go back to telling the basketball board how pathetic our basketball program is and then go do your superior dismissive bullshiit routine on the football board. They don't seem to care much for you either, but at least that seems to be your sometimes home. Maybe they have a tolerance for you.
