Maybe if the Brands brothers become available.....Too bad Cael can't coach.

Yep, redshirt and come back like a house on fire.Something to keep in mind. True freshman Zain Retherford finished 5th. Its a bright future for Blaze and Duke.
Ohio wrestlers coming out of high school are deficient in mat wrestling. Prove me wrong.Hah @El_Jefe, one of the worst, butt hurt Buckeye posters clearly lurks over here and quoted you (I think he now says “Pedro State” since the alternative might not be kosher anymore by their mods - interesting coming from a campus with pedophile/sex trafficker Lex Wexner’s name all over it, but I digress)

LMFAO now the Pedro State board is blaming Blaze's lost on the fact that he is from Ohio...Can't make that stuff up.

"He's from Ohio...a state notorious for underdeveloped mat wrestlers"

Hey, DeGaz, your coach is a double-digit IQ simpleton and routinely ruins great recruiting classes. Hope he gets a lifetime contract.
I think Taylor was thinking escape and stall was more likely than a takedown. This was such a dumb decision by Taylor?
He got away from bottom with only 12 seconds left. So he had 12 seconds to score a TD vs 30 if he chose neutral? But he did get a meaningless point while losing 18 seconds.
The only possible justification (and it is not that great of a justification) is that Robinson had a stall call and maybe they thought they could get an escape point and a stall call to tie it as they had riding time..
Zero doubt that the only thing holding Marcus back is strength training. Time to get to work with Zain on the farm. Not kidding.
Tough to beat the best in folkstyle when you can't get out and can't ride. Good year, after getting ridden all summer by Zain there should be improvements.
Sorry. I misread. When I meet up with Cael before the Finals I'll make sure to bring up your suggestion. I also need to make sure I educate Cael on the intricacies of coaching, like attempting a duck under while trailing late or bringing your hips to the party. I will let you know how it turns out.
Self preservation.Which were? He wrestled before and after the dual.
Yeah I wouldn't go that far. I don't think this will age well. His upside is tremendous, he will win national titles.I’m obviously not the only one but it became clear by the second half of the season that we ended up getting the least talented wrestler(in folk style)among the top 4 freshman at 133. Blaze just doesn’t have the skillset that the other 3 currently have. Very disappointing that Taylor going to Ok State ended PSU’s chances for Jax
He used "we", but he ain't part of the "We are"Yeah I wouldn't go that far. I don't think this will age well. His upside is tremendous, he will win national titles.
Perhaps the family is staying one step ahead of the landlord.Schedule conflict with his Saturday prayer group?
I think they're on sale now at Harbor Freight
Blaze is darn near impossible to take down and has fantastic fundamentals standing. He's a multi-time age-group world champion for a reason. Nonetheless, my first thought seeing him this season was that he was closer to his ceiling than some of the other guys; that maybe he was the next high school phenom who doesn't quite live up to the hype in college.Tell us how you really feel.
That wasn't my intent at all. I was playing along with your comments to continue the joke. I didn't intend it to be snarky. Sorry that I didn't convey my humorous intentions well. Had we been chatting in person I'm sure the joking nature of my post would have been clear. You know, sometimes there is a need for a smart asssed response. Somebody posts something so unabashedly dumb the response is simply demanded. Since my post of what I would do included, "Thing is Cael has yet to ask me what my plan is." I took care of the response.
My mistake. I assumed most on here were intelligent enough to get it. I forgot about your special needs. Sorry.
Marcus TF then lost to 5-0 to Seidel and finished 4thI've spent the entire day doing yard work.
Can someone give me a 30 second overview of the PSU matches I missed in this session thus far? TIA...
Well than I am truly sorry. When you group with the duck under i completely misread. Apparently I have the special needs. I again apologize. I am editing my posted reply. That wasn't my intent at all. True, but he was overpowered by a 5th or 6th year senior, not another freshman. And Levi was overpowered as a true freshman in the finals, also.
Just 3 points from the record. To partially answer your question, this tournament has indeed set a record for Penn State bonus points. Last year was also record setting. 2017 is 3rd place at 32.5.
I'm sure @Wrestleknownothing can tell you if this year is an all time record for any school.
What was the score? That's funny, when my daughter was born the doctor had the Bills playoffs game on in the delivery room.
I was wondering about his focus.
Never change, mcpat. I enjoy your sense of humor.Sorry. I’m just trying to be funny. Its what I do.
So mat 1 then?Just got my 1st notice of a mat assignment for the finals: FloSports: [1st Place Match] Bout 634 - Shayne Van Ness (Penn State) vs Aden Valencia (Stanford) is up next on Mat 1 https://go.flo.zone/3DfMyNat
Are they starting tonight at 149, saving Mendez for last?
Blaze was my top choice and excited that is the one we got. A bit premature to write him off, I feel like when the careers are over Blaze will be the oneI’m obviously not the only one but it became clear by the second half of the season that we ended up getting the least talented wrestler(in folk style)among the top 4 freshman at 133. Sounds like Cael picked him over Forrest and Seidel, so what do I know? I hope he proves me wrong.
I’ll let Cael know.IMO, PSU should strategically redshirt Blaze, Davis and Duke to match Ok St firepower in future years. Start Ono, Desmond and Henckel and the team is still the favorite to win in 2027.
Probably a bit of an overreaction on my end, but I thought he would be more polished at this point and be able to initiate more offense against the other elite guys. Watching Jax or Seidel or even Davino at times makes you want more as a PSU fan. I’ll reserve my judgement and let it play out and hope and know i might be wrongBlaze was my top choice and excited that is the one we got. A bit premature to write him off, I feel like when the careers are over Blaze will be the one
I think it's fair to wonder what his future looks like simply based on the current landscape and what is also coming in, but I know what you're saying.Remember when Zain took 5th as a freshman and took two losses in the tournament?
Or when RBY took 8th and lost three times?
Or when Nick Lee took 5th and lost twice?
Im guessing things will work out for Marcus.
I’ve never been accused of using tact or trying to be classy; …. so I’ll just say it! Both are phony quitters, especially since their teams are fighting for a podium finish.AJ: He severely sprained his wrist giving the whirlybird after he got planted. The last two matches he got taken down he called for injury time. Sad to watch......but I did with a smile.......sorry Jesus
Angelo: The announcer said after he lost that Iowa was deducted a team point for unsportsmanlike conduct....supposedly by Angelo. Perhaps it wasn't his choice to not wrestle?
Other than the few questionable MFFs this morning, this tournament is just brutal physically. I can't imagine how sore and beat up these guys are by the end. It must also be a gut punch to have to get yourself down to weight for the next day, especially after a heartbreaking loss. I especially admire those wrestlers who come back Saturday morning and compete hard even though for many of them they are wrestling for a podium spot they will not be remotely satisfied with. Wrestlers are warriors!20% of the Session V matches were won by MFF
Still more action than Ferrari matches.20% of the Session V matches were won by MFF
So maybe we should lay off Angelo a bit.
Just stop the idiocy. He's an U17 and U20 World Champion. Here you are trying to give him advice. Get a frking clue.
Caliendo isn't catching mesenbrink in a cradle.David Taylor once got caught in a cradle nobody saw coming. Nothing is a foregone conclusion in this sport
