Period 1:
Here we go. Circling, tying up & hand fighting. SVN presses forward. Valencia shoots, SVN counters, but nobody scores. There's a flurry of action & Valencia comes out with a leg. SVN works to his feet & rolls, but Valencia finishes the TD on the edge, 3-0. He almost catches SVN on his back, but SVN rolls through to his belly. Out of bounds & restart. Stanford throws the brick. I think Stanford wants nearfall points on the last exchange. We're under review. Challenge overturned, no nearfall. Back to action. SVN is still down. Blood time for SVN before we start. Valencia with a heavy ride. SVN works to his feet, gets hand control & the escape, 3-1. SVN shoots, but Valencia blocks him off. Collar ties & hand fighting in the center. Valencia reaches for a leg, but can't get there. Heavy hand fighting & collar ties by both. Valencia shoots & gets to an ankle, but SVN kicks free. Valencia takes SVN to the edge & out. SVN gets a stall warning. Circling & tying up. SVN shoots & gets to a leg, but Valencia fights out of it. SVN takes Valencia to the edge. They're both down on their knees & they go out of bounds, 19-sec left. And we're stopped again. Time for the wrestlers to take a break & get a drink. Back to action. SVN presses forward, but he can't find an opening & time expires. 3-1 Valencia, +20-sec RT

Period 2:
Valencia takes down. He works to his feet & gets the escape, 4-1. Valencia drops to a leg. SVN tries to pancake him, then sprawls back & gets an ankle too. Stalemate & restart. Valencia shoots & gets to a leg, SVN counters & finishes a TD on the edge, 4-4. Wow! SVN just wouldn't quit! Out of bounds & restart. Valencia is still down. He pops to a quadpod, then his feet & gets the escape, 5-4. And we're stopped again. More blood time. Back to action. SVN presses forward off the whistle. Collar ties & hand fighting. Valencia with some clubs. SVN shoots a double, but Valencia blocks him off. SVN shoots again & gets a leg. Valencia throws in a whizzer & then gets a leg. He hangs on until time expires. 5-4 Valencia

Period 3:
SVN takes down. He pops to his feet & gets a quick escape, 5-5. Collar ties & hand fighting. Valencia tries an underhook, but SVN pulls out of it. Valencia reaches for a leg, but can't get there. He drives forward & shoots. He locks around SVN's leg. SVN sprawls back. Valencia is trying to come out the back. SVN gets to an ankle & they're head to feet. Stalemate & restart. Hand fighting & collar ties again. SVN presses forward. He takes a half shot & Valencia circles away. Valencia dives in, SVN counters. Valencia counters that. There's a wild scramble & they end up head to feet as time expires. 5-5

SV:
More blood time for SVN before the start of SV. Hand fighting & circling with some fakes. SVN with a half shot. He presses forward. Valencia shoots & gets to a leg. SVN gets to an ankle & Valencia gets the TD? WTF was that? Time for a challenge. That was garbage. What is a takedown anymore? That seems to be quite subjective these days.

Still don't know how SVN didn't get awarded a td earlier in the 3rd. Feel absolutely awful for SVN. However, Valencia earned that.

Anyway, I can't believe SR Mendez took that shot, knowing that Vega's big trick is the counter cradle, after training with Jaggers for 4 years, after getting away with it in regulation when they went out of bounds, with a free stall call to give, and while being likely to win in rideouts.

Just a colossal brain fart by a 2x national champ.
