Jeff Byers did an amazing job this week. Always appreciate his knowledge, preparation and enthusiasm
Still isWhen I was in HS and kid who was 19 was a dummy who flunked.
Isn't he a North Carolina boy? LolWe’re PA boys. Gotta root for Jax
Let's be fair here. After the attempted head twist head lock Mitch spent the rest of the match physically abusing the hell out of him on national television. Caliendo was expecting the treatment Bo gave Moore. Pick him up, pat him of the back and not embarrass him in front of his mom.He went Full Hawkeye.
Never go Full Hawkeye.
The current rules are fine. Officials just, in general, need to be less tolerant of it. McGowan would be Exhibit A. There are many other examples, but McGowan was egregious.First stall should be a point, second stall two points, etc. Problem is, the refs refuse to call stalling. Thanks to the refs, we do not know what a TD is, their is no consistency in their calls...tonight is borderline unwatchable.
Memory does not serve you rightIf memory serves me right, Cael has yet to get 5 individual national champions in a single year. Obviously we were robbed at 157, though. McEnelly seems like a good guy and Valencia wrestled well so I am not especially pissed there.
Yeah I actually agree. Looking at the big picture, let's go ahead and start all the way back to the beginning.I think you are missing the bigger picture. For quite awhile PSU had 5 studs and another 5 who placed 5th or didn’t AA. Out of those 5, 4 went through to the finals. 80%. But now we have 8+ studs so of course it’s going to be tougher to keep 80 % making the finals. The overall program has gotten much better. We still have those 5 studs that go through but the other 5 are also fighting for the finals
TBT, he wasn’t really doing much to try to get out before the stalling warning.Terrible stall call there on Devino imho - he's on bottom trying not to give up RT ADV.... escapes in 36 seconds and you hit him with bottom stalling???
How , I am all ears
Thanks! I thought there was another one. We had talked about it ourselves earlier today and googled it. They only listed the one year.+2017
Stallalonga went to Cornell, but the list of OKST stallers is pretty long without him. Can't do it. I've always hated Oklahoma State since at least Johny Hendricks. Chris Perry. Chris Stallalonga. Dean Heil. Cocaine Eddie. Now Rob-a-Duke.
At least Iowa is just mediocre whereas Oklahoma State stalls to bologna national championships.
I saw an exchange between him and a guy on a wrestling Facebook page last year that bothered me.Why?
Nope. NC I believe. Is Jax even from PA?
Well said.Hard to not like Jax...David Taylor has his David Taylor. Maybe better.
Looks like he is majoring in archery at Okie State base d on his celebration. When I was in HS and kid who was 19 was a dummy who flunked.
Penn State has moved into the evil empire era of the dynasty. I say embrace it.haha
From North Carolina. Moved up here 5 or so years ago to wrestle for Bishop McCort with Bassett. Bassetts Dad recruited him really. They even had a year penalty for the wrestling programNope. NC I believe.
Levi won his first title when he was 2 months older than Forrest is now.Jax was just in high school a few months ago. Lmao. He's 19.
He was a redshirt freshman, they're saying first TRUE freshman. So that data point can’t be right first undefeated freshman with a national championship since 1947? Didn’t Cael do that in 1999?
It’s tough for me to disassociate him from Bishop McCort, which makes it tough for me to root for him.Really don't mind seeing Forrest win. He is fun to watch.
It has startedThe Trophy Presentation doesn't start until 10 pm EDT on ESPN+
Ahh didn’t realize that little tidbit. He was a redshirt freshman, they're saying first TRUE freshman.
I’ll be kind of surprised if it’s not a bonus for Jax.
