Doucet rides out his opponent for the entire second period. Goes to 3rd period at 0-0.
Doucet not pretty but still a win. 10-0 for the Pokes in the 1st round. Would like to pick up a couple of upsets in the next round where we are the underdog.
Lockett needed 1 more takedown for bonus and had lots of time but no bonus points but a win. Facundo pulls out a tough decision, pulled away in the 3rd period with 2 takedowns. Great smart win by Ryder, wore on the guy pulling on the head etc and he gets the takedown in overtime for the win. Merrill is dominant and gets the tech. Once he figured out he was way better than his opponent it was a mismatch with lots of takedowns. Good riding by Doucet to pull out a 2 to 1 decision. Good news everyone advanced!
This is the kind of screw-around match that Conner could lose to a lesser opponent.

Think that is right based on seed. Not sure I’d consider Troy a favorite against Robinson since he hasn’t ever beaten him but he is favored by seed.
First time we've advanced all 10 guys since 1968. Not too shabby.

Luffman is a lot tougher than his seed indicates. A good workman win.
And in 1968 I think it was 10 out of 11 weight classes.
Hopefully Troy can wear him out, Vrob looked tired in his 3rd period against a much lesser opponent than Troy will be. Keep it close and pull away in the 3rd is what I'm hoping for.
I hate VRob w the fire of a thousand suns! The key is to get the first take down. Otherwise he runs and stalls his tail off. I believe in Sparkplug!!!
