Mine are very much wadded up right now. But we have seen many teams go from missing a bowl or being mid tier just last year to being in the top 20 and playoff contending this season all due to the portal and progress. Not saying it will happen for us, but I'm not gonna write us off just yet.

portal and progress? We had one of the easiest schedules this year, and were lucky to get to 7-5. Over three years, there has been no progress, and Rhule has proven himself a poor eye for talent. Even if he has a ton of money to spend, likely to spend it on the wrong guys. Too bad looking cool doesn’t determine the outcome of a team, because with his new look, we’d be preseason #1, no doubt.
You can go ahead and write next year off.

Can we label it a rebuild season if Matt never built a team in the first place?

Matt will likely be 13-23 in conference play after next year in 4 years. That’s just inexcusable

but I do expect that a lot of next years two deep aren’t even on the team this year. university and Troy going to have to go balls to the wall in NIL transfer portal to protect its investment in Matt

I think as this moment stands, it'll be a miracle for Nebraska to make a bowl game without next year's opponents suffering a serious regression.
