He started the season in the rotation. He was sent down to get his **** together after a rough start and come back to the rotation. I really don't see how this is a desperate move.

He was inconsistent in AAA, albeit better than he was at the MLB level. In 5 starts he had an ERA of 4.56 in 23 2/3 innings. One game he gave up 7 ER in 2 2/3 innings. If the Phillies had a better option, he would probably still be at AAA getting his **** together, hence desperate move.

He had 1 bad games where he gave up 7, In the other 4 games he gave up 1, 2, 1, and 1. The article discusses some tweaks he made to his delivering and improvement on his fastball. It's fairly common for struggling pitchers to be sent down to the minors for a brief period to work through issues. If the staff think he is ready, it's not a desperate move. It's a prudent one. We'll see if they are right.

I’m well aware that pitchers get sent down to work on things. Heck, Halladay was sent to A to start over. Like I said, if they had a better option he would not be pitching tonight. It’s ok. You don’t have to take it so personal.

Nice outing for Painter and then the bullpen strikes. I think we can stumble along with the 4th and 5th starter choices we have and get to the playoffs where we can shorten the rotation, but we desperately need at least 1, preferably 2, bullpen arms. You cannot trust Kerkering. There’s like 2 guys you can trust in the pen

Let's look at it this way............2 things:
1. The Phillies brought him up to show a team/teams who are interested that he hasn't pitched that bad his last 4-5 outings in AAA.
2. He hasn't looked that bad lately, and he is NO DAMN WORSE than our #4 (Nola) and we have no #5.

Well at least a 100 win season is not possible, they will stumble along and maybe make the playoffs - IF - they 'really' play the game. Not sure because there is a rift between the players and Donny. No motivation when the bullpen routinely loses ------
