Maybe I'm just a frustrated fan but I say no. The big guns are in a funk and I don't know if they'll get out of it. Example tonight... Bottom of the fifth, the Phils have men on second and third with nobody out. Soriano was struggling to throw strikes. Then Schwarber strikes out on four pitches, only one of which was in the strike zone. Then Turner strikes out on six pitches, none of which were in the strike zone. Then Harper strikes out on six pitches against a reliever but at least all the strikes were in the zone even though he just watched the first two go by. That's a lot of money for three strike outs at an important point in the game.Can the Phillies really hang on for a Wild Card slot?
Second and third, no outs, and these clowns can’t squeak a run with schwarber, turner and Harper to the plate. Disgusting.
63% of their swings and misses are at pitches out of the zone. So tired of them watching strikes and swinging at balls, and too many that are a ball from the time they leave the pitcher’s hand.
But they didn’t lose last night did they Zack? Guess the Jays got the last F you huh even without Vladdy playing. Maybe you should consider saving these comments for after a game where the Phils win and you pitch well. A truly great pitcher but looking a little thin skinned lately. First, not playing in the All Star game in your home city because you were snubbed and now becoming unglued because the other team had the temerity to question whether you were on the rubber when pitching.
Just shoot Alvarado to the f*#king moon. You just can’t have a high-leverage late inning reliever that can’t throw strikes.

After this season I hope to never see Alec Bohm again. One of the most mush brained, mentally soft players who has ever worn a Phillies uniform.
He's been OK since his meltdown against the Reds which must have given Mattingly a false sense of security. IIRC, not many of those subsequent appearances were high leverage, with the game being tied or the Phils holding a slim lead. Handing out walks in a situation like last night should earn him a seat in the back end of the bullpen. It seems like he's lost the head space to pitch effectively with the game on the line.
The pen will be Dombrowski’s undoing. This is not a team capable of winning in October.

The talk of extending him is crazy. He has systematically destroyed their farm system which is almost barren without anything to show for it. The only guys on the team from the farm are generally replacement level guys like Bohm and Stott, and the acquisitions are old and expensive. If they even have a season next year, I’d be a seller if they are scuffling along as wild card hopefuls.
