was at the airport about to board a flight and saw the Harper gaffe. Walked away disgusted, boarded the plane thinking that was it. Got on the plane and saw Bohm with the HR. Thank you delta for having live tv.

It’s a new month tomorrow. Maybe that means they get on a hot streak again?

Due to something else on my schedule, I went from viewing the 1st inning, to listening to the 2nd inning, to missing everything until the bottom of the 9th, and catching the remainder of the game on the radio, and then the postgame show on the radio. Seems like a lot of crazy things took place in the game:

- Bohm's game winning HR was his 1st opposite-field HR since Opening Day of the season
- Bohm made a great defensive play in the double play in the 6th inning, and a terrible defensive play in the 7th inning throwing the bunted ball to 2nd
- Braves' pitcher Lee hadn't allowed a HR to a leftie all season, and allows 2 in the 8th to Schwarber and Harper
- Braves' pitcher Fuentes hadn't allowed a HR to a righty all season, and allowed the winning HR to Bohm
- Sanchez has been sub-par in September, but threw a gem today
- Painter, who had a rough start to his rookie season, had a particularly bad loss to the Braves in Atlanta in April. And in relief, with the season on the line, he pitches a gem, and doesn't allow any runs
- it's poetic justice that Bohm had the game-winning HR, in that so many people were ripping him earlier in the season, and he ended up being their best offensive player in the 2nd half of the season

I'm sure I'm missing some of the crazy things in the game, as I completely missed most of it, but the above stood out to me from what I could glean.

Way to go, Fightins!

Huge to get three great innings from Painter. The regular bullpen only pitched a third of an inning (four pitches) today. Duran should be ready to go if needed tomorrow. A couple of the bullpen guys shouldn't see the mound at all during the playoffs.

Seemed like JT challenged more pitches today than all season.
He did a great job, the ump was definitely struggling with the strike zone today.

It was hilarious when the not-Kruk color announcer, who I assume was from the Braves broadcast team, started spouting off during Schwarber's 8th inning at bat. It seemed like he was giving his autopsy of what he thought was going to be a 2-0 series win for the Braves. The count got to 3-2 when the dude said this stuff....
  • - You can tell the quality difference between the two rosters
  • - The bullpen, for example, when you needed someone there wasn't anyone available (directed at Phils)
  • - The length of the line-up, less stars and more everyday guys
  • - The Braves line-up has an option though the entire line-up, guys bang throughout the entire line up
  • - The roster in general is far more complete on the Braves side
Literally two seconds after he made that last statement, Schwarber hit one 447 feet. Then Harper hit one 418 feet. Two of the stars he was dissing proved why they're stars. Great job by that deep Braves bullpen.

That was Joey Votto, a dude who never won anything!

Update: it was that Braves dude not Votto

I’m seeing Game 3 scheduled for 8 ET tonight, fml.
They should have set the game time at the end of the Yankees game last night. The official time wasn’t set until after the 10:00 game last night.

Don’t think it is right to leave people that are going to attend not knowing if it is 2:00 or 8:00 game on a work day.

Heck, it's not even fair to the players either.

Oh, a tangent. Remember before ABS on 3-0 pitches if the fourth pitch was borderline and the batter, anticipating it being called ball four, started towards first base, the umpire would always, always, call it a strike? You’ve all seen it a million times. Yesterday (I forget which game, immaterial) this situation came up, the batter starts towards first base, “Strike one!” The batter taps his helmet for an ABS check and it’s a foot outside, lmao, I loved it. Carry on.
