From what I hear Brown is around 210lb. His frame is so long. They will pound the weight on him. Just from what Ive seen with him, if he is cutting weight I would think he would look skinny. I bet they would bulk him up quick.Ross is 6'3" 230lbs . Brown I was told is 6'3" but I'm not sure how much he weighs
Sanchez has pinned and teched his way into the semis. Zinkin has also dominated en route to the semis. Sanchez will face Henry Aslikyan, who is ranked #18 nationally. He is committed to Michigan. He is a reigning two-time champion, competing at 113 last season. He took bronze at 48kg at the 2024 U17 World Championships.Psalm 1 guy said:
Even though he is only a sophomore, I have been keeping track of Sanchez this season. He blitzed his way through both of the qualifying tournaments for the state championship. This season he moved up to 120 pounds after winning a title at 106 his freshman year. He has definitely added on a lot of muscle in the last year, and is noticeably broader in his arms and shoulders. He is still undefeated in his California H.S. career. At this year's tournament he has senior Rocklin Zinkin in his bracket. Zinkin has made the Finals every season and has won it the last two seasons. He is committed to Oklahoma State and is ranked nationally at #2 behind Landon Sidun. If Sanchez wins the title this year he will further cement his credentials moving forward. Also, if Sanchez wins it again this year he will be half way toward the record of being California's only 4-time undefeated state champ. For those who don't know, California is a single classification state and has over 1000 high schools with a boys wrestling program.

@El_Jefe is feeling the pressure. If he doesn’t step things up on the posting front, he joins Cael on the chopping block. Annual reviews are coming soon for bothSuper analysis and am appreciative of your sharing!
Agreed, but the matchups are looking rough for this round for the Rovers. Even Salamone has a toughy with Cerrato , who is really coming on and he’s probably their best bet for the finals. Probably going to have to make some serious hay in the consys to stay in it. Great team race going on with five teams within 6 points of first.Easton had great first day at Regionals. They put all 6 entries in Semis. They trail NDGP by 2 who has 5 in semis and 3 in consis.
I'm curious if Dillard(Lehigh) gets his 4th State Title. I don't think he is a lock. Kai(Nebraska) really shuts Dillard down. They know each other and Dillard can't finish on him .
District 11 has had only one 4 timer. Matt Gerhard,Catasauqua in 1980s. Desmond would have probably been one if he didn't go to Wyoming Seminary his last 2 years .
Kai has a real chance. He's kinda funky and has some Ed Ruth in him, in that he can lull you to sleep and then explode out of nowhere. He has vastly improved in the past few years. Nebraska got a real buy-low guy.Easton had great first day at Regionals. They put all 6 entries in Semis. They trail NDGP by 2 who has 5 in semis and 3 in consis.

Classic movie, how to say I am over 55 without saying I am older than 55.
Airplane! did not age well! Do not try to show it to kids and grandkids. They will not be impressed.Classic movie, how to say I am over 55 without saying I am older than 55.

Sanchez into the Finals w/a 2-1 UTB victory. He was in on three shots, but Aslikyan did a great job of defending. Even with the reaction rule in college I think one of Sanchez's TD attempts was a TD. Aslikyan didn't come close to a TD and had one stall warning. It will be a Sanchez vs. Zinkin Final.I decided to place this here instead of the Oklahoma State thread:

Haven't seen the score yet but saw a post-match interview with Gallegos. It's true, Gallegos won on a reversal in OT rideouts.Sidun took and L per my buddy in attendance.
A kid with access to Cael gets better as a season progresses and makes adjustments to change outcomes. Sounds familiar.Teag advances to the West Region final with a win over Cartwright, who beat him earlier this season.
Not much has changed about M2's day to day from what I hear. DT cornered in big matches but it was always McKnight who ran the daily operations.BTW, Gallegos trains at M2. Looks like the magic there outlasted the magic man.
Sidun lost ? Toss up matchSidun took and L per my buddy in attendance.

2018 aaa piaa on pcn nowCongratulations to West Branch freshman Will Edwards taking 4th at 114 as a freshman. Will gets a trip to Hershey as a freshman! I basically root for all the WB, P-O, Moshannon Valley and BEA kids ..and of course we ALL root against Bishop McCruit and their team full of ringers![]()
Gallegos, only a sophomore, is ranked #14 nationally by Flo.He did, 3-2, TB2, to Mateo Gallegos (DuBois)
Braiden Weaver also lost the 133 Regional final, 5-2. All the other PSU verbals/commits won their finals in the PIAA AAA West Regional. All the results are posted in the weekend thread in the 2026 PSU Recruits Postseason Tracker thread, which is pinned atop the board. (That's updated with all the results from today's actions in 4 states, with the exception of 1 final in NY.)
215 SW AA: Erdman very dominant. How does that weight shake out at States? In other regionals:
NE AAA:
- 127: Finals will be the expected D11 finals rematch between Emilio Albanese and returning state champ Nicholas Salamone. Cael Nasdeo's brother Collin went 1-2 and DNQ for states.
- 133: 3x S1 Keanu Dillard vs 1x S1 Willmont Kai in the finals. One upset: D2 champ Mason Whitney (S5) lost in the quarters to Nazareth FR Caleb Kosko; they'll meet again in the 3rd place match. Both have qualified for states.
- 139: Expected finals, returning state champ Trey Wagner vs wild card Reef Dillard. Dillard is now 23-12 on the season, but appears to have taken his Extra Strength J Jaggers Postseason pills.
- 189: Expected finals with S5 Dom Sumpolec (NDGP) vs S4 Brayden Zuercher (Nazareth). Hutcherson may have to beat both at states.
- 285: Good finals match between 38-0 Brody Rebuck (Shik) vs 28-1 Daniel Schiffert (Bethlehem Freedom). They might be the 2nd and 3rd best heavies in the state, though both well behind Dean Bechtold.
SE AAA:
- 127: 107 S1 Chase Williams gets 2x state medalist Max Tancini in the finals.
NE AA:
- Regional Finalist count: D4 = 22, D2 = 4. D2 will be favored to win 3 of those finals (107, 127, 139).
- State Qualifier count: D4 = 43, D2 = 9
NW AA:
- Upset at 107: D10 runnerup Luke Gray (32-14) beat D9 champ Max Jovenitti, who's now 39-2.
- 114: Chase Karenbauer into the finals with 2 TF, will face D9 champ Cody Householder. Karenbauer will be favored, but this could be a good match.
- Upset at 145: D9 champ Greyson Meyer (37-1 after districts) lost his opener 14-7 to D10 6th placer Kyler See (34-13). Meyer is into the 3rd place match, will qualify for states. See made the regional finals.
SW AA:
- Upset at 139: former Iowa recruit Owen McMullen (Bishop McCruit, VT) lost 1-0 in the semis to D7 runner-up Drake McClure.
- 145: Bo Bassett into the finals with 3 first-period TFs. News at 11.
- Upset at 152: nationally ranked Jackson Butler (McCruit, Maryland) lost in the semis 2-1 UTB to Jonah Erdely (Frazier). Erdely is a 2x SQ and now 31-1 on the year, headed to Seton Hill.
- 160: Melvin Miller into the finals with 3 TFs. He won't get any competition until the state finals vs Reagan Milheim.
189: Quentin Wright-coached Kyle Scott into the finals with a TF and 2 pins, total combined mat time 2:40. He'll be favored in the finals over D7 champ Brady Brown, who pinned McCruit JR CJ Pensiero in the semis -- the official brackets show time of fall 0:01, kinda impossible for a 2-sec HS pin rule.
- 285: looking at a monster HWT match here with Colin Whyte (West Greene) vs Caleb Rodriguez (McCruit) -- probably the 2nd and 3rd best guys after FCA's Mark Effendian. Whyte with 2 first-period pins and a 12-0 MD; Rodriguez won his semi 2-1 TB2.
Note: in the 189 semis, Brown pinned McCruit JR CJ Pensiero in 0:01 -- kinda impossible but that's what the brackets say.
SE AA:
- Mostly chalk. Good finals matchup at 127, S1 Freddy Bachmann (Iowa) vs S2 Carter Chunko (Rutger).
And #10 by Willie.Gallegos, only a sophomore, is ranked #14 nationally by Flo.
Cael Weidemoyer from Faith Christian is the heavy favorite to win AA 215. He finished S3 and S2 his first 2 years, then last year blew out his knee around Christmas break and missed the postseason.215 SW AA: Erdman very dominant. How does that weight shake out at States?
Thank you, sir.Cael Weidemoyer from Faith Christian is the heavy favorite to win AA 215. He finished S3 and S2 his first 2 years, then last year blew out his knee around Christmas break and missed the postseason.
Waiting for the rest of the regional finals to be posted before deeper than that.
Tucker's only loss was an injury default at sectionals. He just teched that guy in 3:28 in the regional final. His problem is common in AA -- it's hard to tell how good he is because his schedule was awful. He only had 3 matches vs returning state qualifiers, none of whom placed, and 2 of them were Erdman.Thank you, sir.
AAA: 215 Tucker from Mifflinburg? Sophomore with only one loss.
I like Erdman (probably because he beat McRuit at both D’s and R’s), but he’s not beating Tucker.Tucker's only loss was an injury default at sectionals. If we were to rank the 4 regional champs: 1 Weidemoyer (SE), 2 Bliss (NW), 3 Tucker (NE), 4 Erdman (SW).
Bliss is returning S3, 39-1 with the only loss 10-9 to Hoare. Bliss has largely flown under the radar this year because NW. Tucker and Erdman both DNP at states last year. Tucker beat Erdman 2x this year.
BUT: Weidemoyer will be the 4 seed because he gets zero points for last year's placement (which is half of the seeding criteria). So actual seeds will be 1 Bliss, 2-3 Tucker and Erdman (I'd have to do the math to determine which order), 4 Weidemoyer.
Bliss got hosed by PIAA.
