believe it was mentioned on the old board but per their twitter accounts, Adam Balogoun-Ali (LB) moved his commitment back to July 8 and Kosci Barnes (DB) is announcing July 26. I don't think either of them are leaning our way at this time though

I’m amused by some who believe losing Marrow was some major loss. If his recruiting was so good, as some seem to believe, then, why have we sucked so badly the last 2 years?

I think he had become lazy, and frankly, always believed he was never as important as some believe.

I"m a data person. Recruiting classes under Marrow did not declined in fact they improved especially the portal. Can the current staff continue? so far it looks good. Bottom line on-field performance is a lot more than recruiting. Player development, S&C, position coaching and head coaching are big factors.

Good recruiting doesn’t always translate to great play. He was a great recruiter when you compare how many top 25 recruiting classes he earned and the avg class during his tenure vs UK’s historical avg. Denying facts is absurd. In field performance, equally shared by the rest of the coaches, who are responsible for player development and schemes.

Well, if the recruiting was good, then, the coaching must be even worse than I thought.

Bottom line is, Stoops has been among the top ten highest paid coaches in all of CFB for a few years now, but, we’re not getting top ten results. we’re not even top ten in the conference.
And I’m tired of hearing that being able to compete in the SEC is impossible. Missouri has played in TWO SEC Championship games, since they’ve been in the league. Uh, they’re not exactly a school that has a rich tradition for football.

I the eye test type of guy. ;)

Plus, I say this a lost...Numbers do not lie, but they can be manipulated.
Annnd... the star system is not the end all, be all... It is mostly on potential, not necessarily execution at the HS level.
I been around a lot of 4 and 5 stars, and they were not that elite at their respective position... but they were large humans, or fast humans or tall humans, or just a freak athletically...

Yea I agree with that. The star system is a projection of what a 16 year old kid will develop into at the next level. Some of these kids are way ahead of the development curve. At any rate analysts are going to be a bit high on some and a bit low on others but the entire class ranking should average out to be a meaningful data point especially when you are getting close to the same ranking every year.
