I see Tate is 6'7" so he has a little more height than I thought. He fits into the versatile wing mold. Still think Ben will only go to the portal to fill holes if necessary. Really like his approach to the way he wants to build the program. He will want a point guard who can play right away so that seems a possibility for the portal.

I think they’re looking pretty heavily internationally too. Wouldn't surprise me if that’s where they found Stirtz’ replacement.
Tate is playing primarily the shooting guard position. And could even play point if needed.
He's not playing the point at Iowa.

Pitiful effort I might add, on getting a guard any guard. Ben obviously doesn’t want to pay high school guards big ten money. This isn’t Drake by the way. If you don’t want to pay high school wage how in the hell are you gonna not pay a guard transfer He went 0-5 for not wanting to pay these 4 star guards. Like I said Iowa needed guards, where are they just a dumb animal asking. Oh yeah they all (5)committed to equal or lesser programs why because Iowa recruits like they still have a budget like Drake. One good player and seems to me they shoot their wad on that player and then we’re real particular on any other player. Why would any first rate guard even think about playing here, with that track record. I could be wrong but either way it’s my opinion so stop with the caricatures, very childlike.

Kentucky is using 40% of its profit sharing on men's basketball. Their roster cost them $22M this year.

While we have to wait and see how Iowa performs against big competition, they are headed in the right direction, and we know Ben can coach and has the energy and drive for success. So obviously, you try to get the best available player you can get. But it would seem to me, Ben still looks for those types of players. Since Stirtz and company can play at this level and were under the radar, that Ben still looks at those types of players looking for overlooked players and will keep it hushed up, hoping to find a baller where nobody else is looking.
