Feels like they increased the number of inductees from five didn't they? They created a couple of categories to get more acts in (Musical Excellence, Musical Influence) without being subject to a full Musical Performer vote. I'm fine with that; for this year, I'll stick to five:

Phil Collins
Oasis
Joy Division/New Order (getting a two for one is a no brainer)
Wu-Tang Clan
Iron Maiden

Mariah Carey is almost certainly in though. Maybe Buckley and New Edition too. They've spurned the Joy Division/New Order nomination for years now so personal pipe dream for me to get them in.

just went and looked up Jeff Buckley and wow how is he even listed here. A lower level session player with 1 album and posthumous album. Never heard his music so I listened to a coupe tracks. And it is nothing special, nothing remarkable at all, not sure how he rose to this level, but if he had 50 albums of the stuff I listened to would still be less than ho hum generic 90's sound, strumming a telecaster and emoting

Honestly INXS has been a glaring omission. Don't care about the rest, nothing too spectacular. Phil Collins would be fun. Buckley is a good story.

Buckley most well known for the second best cover of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah'. He's a much bigger 'influence' (on many contemporary singer/songwriters) than he was anything else. As to number of albums, his first was in 1994 and he died in 1997. So, not much room for more...

not really sure what his influence could be? How to be more generic and not memorable? Like that commercial his music is basically meh. Its not like he released Highway 61 revisited, died and released Blood on the Tracks.........

Wu Tang Clan? Really? Phil Collins is a slam dunk….other than that, I would say no other than Luther Vandross. I know he’s not rock and roll, but since that’s not a criteria, he deserves to be in there.
