The move goes by several names:

- cement mixer
- cow catcher
- Koncrete special
- cement
- mixer
- cement job

You are really smart about most things, so imagine my surprise when you forgot to add:

-golden shower
-back door
-69
- And other techniques I am too religious to include!

Hey @Tom McAndrew I blame @PSUAllTheWay for sparking my prurient rant with his BLO name for FLO!!!

… to my understanding, some reserve the term cement MIXER to rotation in the opposite direction shown… going under the opponent to flip him to his back, when he is trying to fight off the overhand direction shown in the video.

THAT’S the one I remember Mark Hall hitting a few times!

I'm having trouble understanding all of the negative remarks about Flo. I just watched every PSU match live, had notifications on my phone about mat assignments, had team score results always available, and now, if I choose, I can go back and watch any match that I wish!

So, what's the complaint?
During the live match, the feed ended early. Thanks for the heads-up about the replay!

The replay has the full Barr & Cochran matches. I just updated the PBP for those without Flo.
Thanks Pete. I have a Flo Pro subscription. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for them to keep the feeds live until the final whistle. It’s annoying to have to wait until they post the replay and then pull it up and find the place in the match where the feed cut out. It’s just dumb to cut the live feed when they do.

Any news on why Nagao Mff? Precautionary or did he get hurt again?

I'm not certain that FLO deserves this kind of vitriol. Sure, it would be nice to watch the last 10 seconds of the Barr and Cochran matches. That said....I watched 12 hours of wrestling today. All mats were covered. The match scores, brackets and team scores were update very quickly. The announcers were solid. Who cares that they had to get their video equipment back before Radio Shack closed. :)

you are correct. I wonder if Dice's explanation of the origin of the term and the history of concrete work in Northampton made it over from the old board. That was some wrestling history.

I should note that most of the names stem from Pennsylvania. Northampton HS, in the Lehigh Valley, has a mascot called Konkrete Kid (or Kids; I forget). The story I heard was that it came from there being a robust cement industry in the district. Anyway, the Northampton wrestling team back in the day really became experts at this move, and called it the cement mixer, or the Koncrete special. The other names all seem to be variations of those names. It's kind of fun when I'm reffing, and I think to myself that the one kid is in either perfect position to hit the move, or in danger of being hit with the move, and an old-timer will call out either "cement," for "watch the cement (or watch the cement mixer/job)." I've never heard it called a cow catcher in PA, though I've heard it called that on broadcasts, or in write-ups, and usually figure the person calling it that isn't from PA.

I have also heard it called a metcalf; probably due to this pin

The move in Kolat's video we called a "Head Chauncer" on my high school team. My coach came from Ohio. Did you guys ever use that name?

When you pay for a service, you shouldn't have to guess what happened. What if Espn should have cut the last 30 seconds of the Hendrickson v Gable match? Or the last 30 seconds were cut out from the Georgia v Ole Miss playoffs game.

Cow catcher if you're from the Midwest.
Don Rohn taught the Flying Cement Job. The Eckloff brothers won 5 State titles representing the Northampton Concrete Kids using it on a regular basis. I believe the "Cement Job" name here in Pennsylvania is rooted to Rohn and Northampton. Probably the most famous comeback pin ever in NCAA finals was Don's nephew Rob Rohn using the cement job . Don, I believe used it at Clarion on occasion.

I didn't have to guess what happened. Barr had just let his opponent up and was walking back to center......needing a takedown for the FIRST period tech. Didn't need Nostradamus to know he got it in 5 seconds or less. Cochran was up 4-0 with a few seconds left. The Army guy hadn't done a thing in the first 6 1/2+ minutes. The only question was whether Cochran got the major even though he stopped attacking, had riding time secured and looked to be waiting for the end. Yep...It ended 5-0. Of course....in a perfect world we should have been able to watch those last 20 seconds....I agree. I am strongly considering asking for a refund. We were entitled to 12 hours of wrestling. That is 43,200 seconds. So 20 divided by 42300 is .00047 of 1%. I always pay for the full year, but even at 30.00/month I would be entitled to a refund of 14 cents. I am just as livid as you are :) FLO needs to pay!

It’s not that the product is terrible overall, but the glitches that are there are egregious, illogical, and unnecessary, which makes it really easy to mock them for it.

Illogical and unnecessary I fully agree with. Egregious? The Heidi Bowl was egregious. This.... Not so much

Cutting off the feed before the end is egregious. The only difference between this and Heidi is that the losing guy didn’t make an improbable comeback.

I wasn't that bothered by it. It's funny but the biggest news today wasn't on the mats, it was the massive commitment PSU got from blue chip, number one recruit known both for his impenetrable defense and his dynamic, non-stop offense. If there's one guy out there who is odds on to be a 4xer and likely go undefeated it's this kid. Of course I'm talking abou

I don't know about illogical. The glitches I have encountered in the past seem to be uncannily perfectly timed for maximum emotional impact.

184 R32: Asher Cunningham vs. Griff Gammell (UVA)

Period 1:
Tying up & hand fighting. Asher reaches for an ankle, but can't get there. He reaches for the other ankle & gets it. He elevates the leg & trips Gammell to the mat on the edge for the TD, 3-0. Stoppage for blood. Lots of blood. Casey councils his son & then comes out to help mop up all the blood. Very long stoppage right now. Gammell starts down. He works to his feet & gets the escape, 3-1. Tying up & hand fighting. Asher tries a arm drag, but can't finish. Asher drops in on a leg & finishes another TD, 6-1. More blood time. Gammell is gushing like a geyser! Back to action. Gammell is still down. He works to his feet, but Asher breaks him back down. Gammell works back to his feet & gets the escape, 6-2. Tying up & hand fighting again. Asher reaches for a leg, but Gammell blocks him off. Gammell drops in on a leg. Asher locks through the crotch, then works behind for the TD, 9-2. Asher throws a boot in. Gammell turns & looks for a reversal, but Asher stays with him & rides out the period. 9-2 Asher, +1:02 RT

Period 2:
Asher starts down. He turns & gets a leg. Gammell drapes over the top. Asher keeps working & finishes a reversal 11-2. Asher throws in a boot & has Gammell all twisted up. Asher adds 4 NF, 15-2, then the matched is stopped for more blood time. Gammell is still leaking. Back to action. Gammell starts down. He works to his feet, but Asher trips him back to the mat, then locks up a cradle. Oh yeah, baby! Asher gets the fall!!!

Asher Cunningham FALL Griff Gammell (4:29)
Love the alliteration -- Gammell the Gushing Geyser!
