It starts today. My favorite time of year. Big question is can anyone challenge Sinner on the men's side. Looking to Ben Shelton to make a run for it. Would love to see either Fritz or Francis make it to the semis.

On the women's side Rybakina is fun to watch just for the non-chalence LOL! Jess Pegula has already one her first round match and played well. Was shocked this week to hear an unprecedented doping ban of Vondrousova. She made her bed and now has to sleep in it I guess. Iva Jovic is another up coming American youth that should make a good push on the women's side.

Good drinking game this tournament will be take sip every time Serena is mentioned.

LOL at the Serena comment--hopefully she's an early exit so she doesn't take over the while tournament
I'd take Sinner vs the field. I don't have any faith in Shelton but it would be nice to see him, Francis or Fitz make a run. Ben does have a great draw
The women's side is wide open yet again. Very nice win by Pegula--she need that after Wimbledon last year and the French this year. I could see her making a run--she's good on grass. Rybakina is my favorite even though I still think Sabalenka's by far the best player--she just seems to be mentally a mess right now. Her last two matches she lost 6-0 in the 3rd I believe. I feel like Iga's due for a run

the Women's side is pretty wide open. I could see any of the top 7 seeds taking it. On the mens side, Sinner is the clear favorite. The americans could go deep, but I don't see them winning it unless something happens to Sinner.

It's early but Sinner doesn't look great in this one. Probably doesn't help that he hasn't played since the French and I'm sure he'll be fine barring cramps but very unimpressive start. Down a break--Kecmanovic serving for the first.

Serena being back is interesting. Would rather that be the headline than whatever Naomi Osaka is up to. I mean, I love Japan and Japanese culture but bro…..

Really can't stand her...just attention seeking while crying about mental health of having to do interviews to earn millions.

Americans Fritz and Shelton played well in their first round matches and are moving on. Shelton mixing up his shots nicely with drops and slices. Some working some not. Taylor Townsend loses to Swiatek. Taylor looks to keep a string of doubles titles going as the #1 team with partner Ekaterina Siniakova.

EDIT: Correction. Shelton actually lost in 5 sets. Ugh.

Wait...did Shelton win? Maybe I'm behind I have him in the 5th set on serve...maybe I'm delayed
I don't think he's played well though lol

I won't lie--I am curious to see how Serena does. I wouldn't be shocked if she made the 4th round.
I don,t know. I think she has't played regular competitive tennis in four years. These young 20-25 year olds may be able to run she off the court. Maybe to the third round.?

You were correct. She played well but she's clearly rusty. Might be ready by the US open is she plays in Washington Toronto and Cincy

Brooksby and Paul moved on the third round which is definitely positive for the US men
Tien was down 2 sets to 1 but then was injured or sick and will join Shelton as huge disappointments for the men barring some kind of miracle
Sabalenka moved on but...but mentally I just don't know if she (or Iga) can win it right now. Sabalenka's path might be Ostapenko, Osaka and Andreeva just to get to the semis. Ostapenko and Osaka aren't consistent but can definitely pull off an upset

Princess Kate has made it out to court 18 to watch Brit Arthur Fery play Virtanen. Court 18 is not one of the bigger courts at Wimbledon (about 750), but is famous for having the longest tennis match ever: 2010 Isner v Mahut. Over 11 hours over 3 days! Final set 81 to 79 with John winning.

Nakashima with a heartbreaking loss against Struff. Scruff is one of those guys I don't understand why he's not more successful. Way too much talent not to be seeded. Nakashima won his first 22 or 23 service games then lost serving for the match. Tough match.

To make it worse. ESPN already had the graphic showing him advancing.

Yeah that was frustrating. Looked like Brandon was leading in tiebreak and just need 3 more points to win it. Struff earned it though. Played all the way through.

Struff took out Medvedev--nice run by the old man
Jodar and Fonseca also lost so the top half is looking really good for Sinner and Novak
The women basically played out as excepted. Pegula, Coco and Jovic in Q2--hopefully one gets through--rooting for Jess as her window to win a GS is closing

Bottom half of the women's draw about to be wide open with Rybakina losing and Iga against the ropes.

Americans not having a good day thus far other than Krueger

Eala gave a real inspirational heartfelt on-court interview at the end of her match with Iga. First Filipino to make it to the 2nd week of a grand-slam. I'll be pulling for her, till she hits an American player.

It is oftentimes strange how our preferences seemingly come out of nowhere. 🤷🏻

Man, Anisimova just couldn’t get it together. Had a chance to come back down a break but played a ball that looked like it was going out and it backfired. Ugh.

Keys is definitely a threat to win this given today's chaos.
Hopefully Taylor battles back

5 American women into the 4th. Pegula plays Jovic so that's a guaranteed spot in the quarters for one. Coco and Keys have tough matches but winnable ones--both probably should win. Krueger seems like a long shot but great run so far

The men do what they typically do--they crashed and burned. Fritz is the last man standing with Bublik up next then likely Zverev--doesn't seem very hopeful but he's the only American man I have any confidence in to at least win when he should.
