This is how it goes on PSU message forums across the different sites. It’s how we roll. Every topic typically detours into battles between Franklin and Paterno fans. There is no allowance for those of us that are fans of Paterno, BOB, Franklin and Campbell. Actual recruiting talk becomes early cycle absolute judgments on individual star ratings, which inevitably change every year between now and December, as they already have done so recently for some of our recruits. Some demand we “throw a bag” at a highly rated recruit who just may not fit Campbell’s plan, not understanding the lack of a plan under Franklin lead to his demise and now we are trying to rebuild a roster that lost 70 players from 2025 and will need to again heavily invest in the portal.
Unlike Campbell’s recruiting plan at ISU which resulted in zero championships and the same number of playoff appearances you mean? Look I get the Franklin firing and hope Campbell wins all those championships Kraft promised but claiming Franklin had no recruiting plan is beyond nonsensical.

Penn State sent the whole coaching staff to visit Wood ONLY after Bourque turned them down. Time will tell who turns out to be the better QB but stop the nonsense about Penn State not wanting Bourque.
This is completely false. And would be refuted by multiple sites’s insiders.

PSU thought asking price was too steep and moved on to Wood. Actually, Georgia did too.

Steve Wiltfong even reported that days before his commitment date he reached out to PSU (and reportedly ND) and was wanted to negotiate NIL one last time. PSU passed again.

VT was the only school willing to pay him. Not PSU, not Georgia, not ND, not OSU.
