Read elsewhere Wood is more like Becht, Purdy, and McSorely. Perhaps that means he is better suited for Campbell system and PSU. I’m not sure. Bourque is definitely the better prospect at this point, but you just don’t know until they play games in college. For what it’s worth Khalil Taylor folllowed Wood today on X. Sometimes that means something, and sometimes it means nothing. We’re actually need 2 qbs in those cycle. Campbell has shown interest in this guy as well. He may get an offer at some point…

I think it precious that you accuse me of a "man crush." It's you and others here who have been moist between the legs since Matt Campbell arrived.
People who have swallowed the Kraft narrative of Franklin's alleged mismanagement of the roster money and his recruiting philosophy are willfully naive.
Let me ask. since we now have a savant managing the roster finances.....where was the splash in the portal?
Why is PSU recruiting at an"88" average....certainly no better than Franklin did? Where are the 5 stars with the money we saved managing the roster better?
The answer is simple. It was all Kraft smoke. I give him credit.....he did build powerhouse programs at Temple and Boston College.
The portal was about bringing the Iowa State roster to PSU. Please tell me, would you put your money on Ohio State, Oregon, USC, Indiana etc. if they played Iowa State?
PSU is very fortunate that this year's schedule only has 2 teams with a pulse. It could get nasty after this season.

Wood's legs are a part of his game, where as Bourque is more of a pocket passer. Campbell wants a QB that can use his legs. I'd say yes, Wood fits what Campbell wants to do offensively better than Bourque.

PS I don't think it's wise to give a HS QB a 7 figure NIL deal given the fact that they probably don't play their 1st year and the fact that they can take that money and transfer after 1 year.

Ironic that fans who are nicknamed Joebots are complaining about someone being a fan of a coach. I didn't even bring up Franklin. It is the haters who bring him up every day. I replied to their posts.

Let’s be clear here. I don’t think I’ve made any posts about Campbell since he got the job. Maybe something along the lines of, “I hope he does well” but I’m not even sure about that. I’m a pretty patient fan. I’ll wait and see what he does. To say I’m “moist between the legs” about Campbell is not only disgusting but typically lazy posting from you.
Franklin ****** up last year, plain and simple. Undeniable. He had a team that was preseason #2, then didn’t show up including a loss to a team that didn’t really have a coaching staff when the playoffs were still a legit possibility.
Here’s the shame of you Marshall. If you talk football instead of blindly supporting the (departed) coach you’re one of the best in here. You know and understand the game better than almost anybody on here. Possibility better than anybody on here. But instead you spend your time lauding a guy that didn’t show up last year for a multi-million dollar paycheck. It’s a shame.

A good rule in life: never overpay for an asset. Especially a QB from high school.

I would rather spend big money on a transfer QB.

Too many highly rated HS players fail to live up to expectations. Just look at Penn State’s history with highly rated HS QBs.

Bourque is becoming less and less likely.

One thing to note - we will need a new qb after Becht departs, whether we roll out a FR or hit the portal. It’s still unclear if we have a true backup heading into this season, let alone an heir apparent for the next.

I have wondered the same thing about 2027 QB. It’s supposed to be Manske, but I could see us going into the portal for a one year starter if Manske continues to deal with injuries and Evans and Falzone are not ready. There’s not a lot of information out there about Manske. I’m not even sure if he is an rpo or pro-style qb.

His mismanagement in some areas is not alleged but fairly well documented. IMO he slowly turned into a psychological wreck after Kraft and the BOT turned down his pay raise. At that point he and some coaches and players imo pretty much checked out.

I pretty much always supported him up until things began to leak about him going around the AD for his raise and the way he was playing both ends against the middle with the coaches players and the university. At that point he totally lost me. The dude is a master manipulator. Seems that psychology degree served him well until it all fell apart.

O'Neil made a comment about two months ago, that no one was recruiting him harder than PSU, but he also made a comment the other day that PSU had very little contact with him until MC became the head coach. Combine those two together and it shows O'Neil just had long term relationship with the staffs at ND and UK, and there was nothing Campbell could do to make that up.

It is going to be a problem with the top end kids in PA this year and any top end kids in the region. What PSU has going for us is that Campbell is going to be able to bring in midwest kids that we are normally never going to get, and that is going to make up a lot more of the class in 2027. We already see that happening

Next year it will be less of an issue, but it is the same problem with Sesay. PSU is doing all they can just to get an OV from the kid. Campbell is way behind the curve with that kid, and you cant build up trust in a day or a month.

Per Kraft himself, we are at $30M. If you wonder why we cannot land every 4 and 5 star recruit, here’s the reason. No amount of pixie dust magic can make up for a $20M deficit. College football is out of control.

And we got Terwilliger. The one place we beat ND is for a midwest kid, not an eastern one. Doesn't that seem odd.

PSU is never going to get all the kids. Neither is ND. Campbell and staff are going to be in a better position once they have had a year to interact with the high end PA, northeastern kids and interact with the top level ones (guys like Hiller Spell) before the big schools understand just how good they are. Get the big leg up. On every big time recruit in PA this year. Campbell is at a big disadvantage. I think PSU getting Montgomery had a lot to do with him being a late riser. Rivals just bumped him up 200 spots a couple weeks ago. The big school still haven't jumped all over him. The one long term high PA kid we may get is Taylor and if we do get him. Its 100% about Smith, not Campbell.

If the standard becomes. ND just beat us for that one kid, so we are not doing well. Then Campbell and staff is never going to do well in your eyes.

Wait a minute, UK also has a new HC, Will Stein. I suspect it was more about $ which ND apparently has much more to offer than PSU and maybe UK was also willing to pay more NIL to O'Neill.

Don’t bother or no need to explain anything to RIGI… he absolutely wants PSU and the new coach to fail.. he is a complete tool and has nothing but hate for PSU and love for BGJ
