That is what I thought also. Regardless, it is entirely possible that she could grad transfer. So four, possibly five prep scholarships for the next two years (assuming no other transfers out). This does not preclude a ‘one and done’ transfer in for the 2027 season.

I get the feeling she'll be like Jada and just hang around. Looks like she still limps with the brace on.
Presuming that KJ is given a fifth year to compete, I believe the decision will come down to academics (her major is Sport and Recreation) since she will need to apply and be accepted into a graduate program. [Or maybe she will take the Sydney Affolter route.]

Exactly. If she had taken a redshirt, she would be listed as a Sophomore.
She has not taken a redshirt. Tore her ACL near the end of her freshman season and missed all of last year. Nothing has been said about using the redshirt but its still a possibility.
- Background: Johnson, a guard from Joliet, Illinois, joined Iowa as a freshman in the 2023-24 season after graduating high school in 2023. She appeared in several games that year, averaging 0.5 points, 0.3 rebounds, and 0.2 assists per game.
- Injury and Redshirt: During the 2023-24 season, she suffered a serious knee injury in practice, which carried over and sidelined her for the entire 2024-25 season. As a result, she officially redshirted that year to preserve her eligibility.
- Current Status: As of December 2025, she is listed as a junior on the 2025-26 roster and is expected to return to play this season after recovery.
I'm pretty sure she redshirted last year. She injured her knee in Feb-March of CC22 senior year. Was out all of last year
Caught the Sioux City Heelan/East game on the radio driving home. Heelan by about 30. Melina Snoozy with 40 points including 7 3's. No.1 junior in Iowa. I think she's visited and I think being watched at this point. I think she'll be a good one.
Iowa offered her a scholarship in September.
I'll throw my $.02 in here.
Watched her last season when Heelan played my granddaughter's DCG team.
Nice player, but struggled mightily on 3s that day...1-10.
I think she could end up like a Libby Fandal(Xavier) or Lower(CCA) type player.
BTW: A little tidbit...Macy Meyer(27) and a sister to the Meyer sisters that played for Bluder, committed to UNI recently.

On last night's Hawk Talk, Jensen said she was visiting both Sioux Falls and Minnesota last week. I'm guessing that would be for Brinley Altenburg (Sioux Falls/AIA) and either Mya Wilson(MN) or Pressley Watkins (MN./AIA), if the visits were for anyone we already know she is recruiting.
She was also in Atlanta watching games at what I imagine was the She Got Game Classic. No idea if that was to watch anyone in particular, but given she is HC now, don't think she would be there just to scout.

Interesting. Early commits are usually the recruits close to home, so I wonder what/who this could be.

She’s pretty smooth on the dribble and she also shows a bit of competitive spunk. Also has a knack for blocking shots! Would be an excellent signing. Haven’t heard much news about Chloe Johnson (MN prep).
