This is a player which CB and the staff needs to recruit hard, since RK will be departing after next season. You are correct in your assessment of Duke recruiting in the DC area, but it appears that Duke will not be in the market for a PG next year. Since Skinner redshirted this year, could be wrong.
Assuming RK means Reniya Kelly. If so, she’s a junior.

I hope you are wrong but knowing Kara as we do, she will still go after her because you can never have to many true PG's.

We have 14 players on scholarship for next season as of now.
I think we can have 15.
That leaves one open spot that we most likely will use for a portal player if CB finds a good one.
Currently I think we have a well stocked roster.
We def wont have 14 players next season. No way these players are gonna stay at UNC to sit the bench another season. My money will be on Hull, Blanca, and Aarnisalo to hit the portal after the season is over. Asrnisalo wont be sitting behind Kelly and in coming Harpering. Also wont be shocked to see Henderson and Brooks get lured away with the promise of more money and playing time. So long story short, we will end up with plenty of space if other schools show interest and coach continues to act like we all of sudden dont have a bench that could be a strength of ours.

Aarnisalo is a good player, and riding the bench. I don't get it???

I do not get it with RK but I do get it with IN. IN does not talk a play off. She gives maximum effort on both the offensive end as well as the defensive end. She rebounds, etc. I know her 3 point shot is inconsistent but she gives you everything else. TH and TQ does the same thing which is amazing for them both being freshmen. CB has a tendency to play EA less one game but then plays a ton the next game. I think she will play a ton against Clemson. LG was on a roll tonight. There is no way I would have taken her out tonight. Hull just got back from injury tonight. CB did play her. Her timing and rhythm was off as a result of not playing the last 3 games due to injury. We will have two starting spots open for next year. We only have two recruits coming next year. If I was BT, LH, and EA, I would stay. BT has not been playing up to the standard since she got hurt during the summer. I do not she that jump from her between her freshman and sophomore year. I have seen it from LH, CT, and LG. BT has got to want it. She will need to get in the weight room, lose some pounds, work on her conditioning, and do speed and footwork. I would work out with the cross country team to work on conditioning. I would take ballet classes to work on her footwork, and she needs to trim down some which will make her more quicker on the court. The injury over the summer has really slowed her down. If not then I guess she can hit the portal. Noelle is here now. She will be pushing somebody for some minutes next season.

Also, Nivar had an excellent game tonight along with LG. Both of them were the leading scores for us tonight. Nivar always brings it on the defensive end.

You have to assume that people will enter the portal. But right now you got Brooks expected to take Nivar’s spot and Henderson taking Harris’ at the 4. The playing time is going to be there. Definitely not the money though, you are right about that.

Well, I guess we will have to wait and see what happens at the end of the season. I will say this, the grass is not always greener at the next place, just ask Paulina Paris, Crisp, Wiggins, etc. Key is doing very well, but it is not that many who left our program that are doing well as a whole.

We have open spots next season at the 3 and the 4. I think NB, TH and LH will fill those spots. I hope they see the opportunity there for them.

I think TH might be groomed to take over the IN role as super defender. She is tall, athletic and fast. Plus she can shoot the 3 and drive it to the rim.

NB once she finds her shot again is going to light it up from the wing. LH can be a great sniper from
the 3 and she is physically strong and can physically rebound.

Next year is going to be great but we got things to do this season.

The players whom you mentioned above were probably told that their playing time would be reduced. Referencing Key her issues were always staying healthy long enough to play. Based upon all that has been written and said about this group they are a very close. Agree with your example that the grass is not greener at the next stop, that's why I believe this group will stay intact. Mention before with those who approve of CB, or disapprove she as been able to retain players who are major contributors. Do not expect that demeaner to change going forward, not saying it won't but unlikely.

I enjoyed your post KJ.
Appreciate that, if individuals do not want to read them, that's their option. Not retaining key players, will be a disaster even with 2027 recruiting. I remember you tarboy from the post that we have had over the years, appreciate your input as well.

Based upon what is being thrown around the circuit regarding PG's for 2027, truly believe that either Kalenna Smith who is 5' 6" of out CA, or Jezelle Banks who is 5'8" out of St. James Performance Academy (DC) are two candidates of whom may end up at Carolina. Smith is rated number one player in the country according to ESPN and Banks is the number four player, with playing time being available at this position it's possible.
