HEEL Yeah!!!Ryan Carter announces her decision today @ 6:30 p.m. Ranked #13 by ESPN Hoopgurlz #goheels
Wow!!! Let’s Go!!!It's now official!
Yeah...your logic is sound, but Ivanna is a game changer. Think Madison Booker level talent. My hot take:
If we still have space and funds, I want Nation Williams over Manyacka.
6-1 SF Manyacka, 6-0 SF Carter and 6-0Sf Oko are too similar as true wing players. They all really need to be at the 2 or 3. And they all
Would overlap with 6-0 SF/SG Nyla Brooks for 3 years of eligibility. Harpring will
Play point and I just can’t see these 4 all starting any time soon. Someone(s) will transfer (of course it is not the end of the world if you have competition and keep the best.)
at 6-2 Nation Williams is not much taller, but she has more of a PF frame and skill set. Play her with Brooks/Ojo/carter in rotation at the 2 & 3 and Harpring at point: you are a just a true center or stretch 5 away from a complete team. (Can’t wait to see what Bofia becomes)
Brooks probably plays 4 and moves on to the W, is my guess. So 2 years overlapMy hot take:

Bottom line, If they both are wanting to come then you cannot turn down talent like that. I would prefer Ivanna. There is a reason why she is ranked number 2 in the class. As someone has stated, Ivanna is on another level. She would be a game changer for sure. Getting either one would be great.Brooks probably plays 4 and moves on to the W, is my guess. So 2 years overlap
Will be interesting to see how many draftees stick in the W after the last bargaining agreement plus expansion. As recently as last year it was just 10-12 per year which basically meant you had to be 1st or 2nd team A-A. That was a hard bar to reach. Seems like now it will be more like 20-25?Brooks probably plays 4 and moves on to the W, is my guess. So 2 years overlap

I want both! But Ivanna will be NPOY before her career is over. Program changer. My hot take:

I have a hard time seeing us beating UCLa for herI don’t see a world where both is an option. There is a limit to funds. Not based on any inside info, just logic.
you obviously take whomever is willing to commit. That is probably what we did with Carter as well: a bird in the hand.
but at a bare minimum I would take Nation as opposed to slow-playing her to take a shot at Ivanna.
someone reported here that Ivanna is looking to decide in the spring, much like Sarah Strong did.
and in the hypothetical world where both are on the phone at once and you can only take one, I vote for Nation.
If I had to guess, I would say we are done for this class. Just a guess.I have a hard time seeing us beating UCLa for her
Have to agree with you, believe UNC is done with this class. The only way they would take another player is if Ivanna Wilson-Manyacka decide in the spring she wants to be a part of something big brewing at Carolina. No one in their right mind would turn her down.If I had to guess, I would say we are done for this class. Just a guess.
But i am an optimist and will continue to hope for more.
of course two top 15 recruits is spectacular.
I'm hopeful that both CT and Blanca can take a step forward. CT has done so both years and Blanca had some really nice flashes as a freshman. Akot will provide some physicality tooWe are in an unfortunate spot with bigs. Our post high school recruits have underachieved, and portal stud centers are probably out of our price range. We need one of our 5s to take a big step forward, or we will probably be forced to play smaller lineups with a 4 playing the 5. That can only get you so far in the tourney.
Ryan Carter will definitely be at the two along side of Kate at the 1. That is the projections. Carter and Kate have played together before so they know each others game very well.I want both! But Ivanna will be NPOY before her career is over. Program changer.
Anything is possible. We did not see Micah committing to us either did we but she did. You never know.I have a hard time seeing us beating UCLa for her
I would not stress or read into that. We will just have to wait and see if someone else decides to commit. We do not know what is on these players mind. They are very hard to read.Nation Williams didn’t post anything in her Insta stories about Ryan’s commitment. That makes me nervous. I know her and Micah seem to be friends, maybe she’s just not friends with Ryan. However, if you’re leaning toward the school that you really like I would think you would post good news about that school.![]()
There were 15 players over 6-3 in the top 70 ranked players. we offered at least 11 of them plus Hulsman (outside of top 70). Most were on campus and at least 3 we were finalists. As for true centers over 6-4 there were only 5 in teh top 70. we offered all of them except Harper Dunni know we went after Hartwell and a couple others, but it seems like CB didn't push too hard for a big.
Hopefully that means that they like what they have with Bofia Toomey and Thomas through the end of next season
She posted it today. She was knee deep in a club tourney yesterday.Nation Williams didn’t post anything in her Insta stories about Ryan’s commitment. That makes me nervous.
