It's gotta be really rough to feel optimistic about a team that struggles so mightily to put the ball in the basket from the field and the free throw line and struggles to rebound the ball. Especially as the schedule toughens the rest of the way.
I'm trying though.

The thing that concerns me is when you’re evaluating a team, you’re not as bad as your worst performance and you’re not as good as your best. Turns out the Illinois and Wake game were not us at our worst. That’s starting to look like the norm

By the end of the year, they will be at the bottom of the Big East
But they beat UConn. You can ignore that all you want and discount it but might be the best win in the country this year. But it actually happened. They didn’t squeak by. They have some toughness and need good guard play. Dawes struggled mightily against RU but did well against UConn

UConn was bound to have some down games after playing such a tough early schedule.
