So if it was 5 years ago … ?

I think people wonder/debate where to draw the line.
He met the criteria.

Are you saying you dont like the rule in general or you dont like that Cornell utilizes the rule?

I dont mind the rule, it think it's laughable that Cornell uses it so much, like I said if it is for physical healing due to a injury (severity matters) it's great, mental rest and or just extra rest is ducking and I dont like it.

I couldn't get her Facebook post to transfer here properly, but Amit Elor stated she won't be attending Final X. This is from her Facebook page:

Hi everyone, I’m sad to share that I will not be able to compete in Final X due to health reasons. I recently found out that I was anemic during the World Team Trials, which added up to be too much with my current injuries. In the meantime, I’m committed to safely working on strengthening my wrestling. I’m also very excited to contribute to the wrestling community by being more available for camps and clinics
❤️

Wishing the very best to all the wrestlers competing this weekend! No matter what, I’m sure we’re going to have an incredible team representing us at the world stage
🇺🇸
To my Final X competitor, @glaudealex you got this and I’ll be cheering for you at worlds!

Nailed it. He went through the same process, a year earlier.
Which shouldn’t have much bearing. A lot can change in a year. Just look at Vito for an example. The year he won NCAA’s and a world title he was unstoppable. The next year he was just very good. Who knows where he’s at now.

I just dont see it being a big deal since they they themselves already faced and climbed that mountain at one point is all. 🤷

UsaW has a procedure and everyone knows it ahead of time. I understand Grote wanting to compete but it's not how it works.

Just a heads up, so that everyone knows in advance.

A relative of mine passed away, and a memorial service and family gathering is now scheduled for Saturday afternoon. As such, I'm out for PBP as well as for scores, updates, tweets, etc. for Final X. There are times where we are reminded of our mortality, and that some things are bigger than sports.

I believe @GregPickel will be providing coverage of the event, and hope/expect others will be posting thoughts, PBP, comments, etc. on the matches.

Sorry to read this, Tom!

Yes, I'll be here from the true third matches at 12:30 through the duration of the final match.

hmm, I guess some might see it as Plyes does. I would not characterize the contest that way, but that could just be me.
