Yes sir. And who does PSU have in the transfer portal....ISU, ISU, ISU, ISU, ISU, ISU, ISU

I'm too lazy to know all these rules, but supposedly this is the only way to build a team now since they had no coach on signing day. I think Campbell was the best hire and expect next year's class will be back to what we're accustomed to seeing (not ISU, ISU, ISU, ISU, ISU). We just have to watch ISU for one year, then it's back to PSU I'm hoping.

Was looking at his bio and in high school he lettered in "unified bocce". Who knew there was such a thing as a high school sport?
Typically "unified" (or "allied") means a sport that involves participants who have some sort of disability. So, a person lettering in such an activity doesn't necessarily have an athletic prowess at it (not that they couldn't) but often it is more about an activity centered around being inclusive and learning from others.

Wow. Looking at the PSU incoming transfer portal it looks like this new staff is really "surgical" about how they're spending their NIL money. 99% Iowa State players and pushing away some good existing talent at PSU by doing so. Lot of thought put into this one......
Yeah, Campbell & Co came to PSU because they want to lose. It's not clear who, if anyone is being "pushed" out of Penn State. As for the amount of "thought" being put into the decisions, every school working in the portal is on the same time line.

PSU is in rebuilding mode between the loss of the 2026 recruiting class, the number of seniors/core players graduating and a significant amount of players portaling out. The first thing is we need to grab starters and depth for 2026 and I do think it has been effective in using both ISU transfers and ISU recruits to fill those holes.

That being said, I agree that we cannot rely entirely on Iowa St players - that would result in a comparatively low talent level for the Big Ten. I'm hoping that we'll start to see us grabbing some higher caliber players from the portal from places besides ISU. With supposedly a significant amount of NIL to offer, we should be able to bring in some game changers to fill holes that we might have.

Is it hard to comprehend that the “low hanging fruit” is getting picked first?? Coach knows and trusts these players from ISU to make an impact at some point!

It looks like PSU will get another 15-20 portal players and I would think most will be from different schools throughout the country!

Some of you people are just hating to hate! Plain and simple

Whats to rebut? Your take is idiotic. If you do not grasp that this staff's accomplishments in Iowa State over a decade was near miraculous, given resources, location and recruiting challenges, there is nothing more to say than post a laughing emoji.
At least miraculous; probably more like heavenly.

So now you’re shifting gears to last season and the fantasy that BGJ oversold? First, that’s in the past and has nothing to do with “a quick climb to greatness” expectation for CMC and next year’s team. Which nobody expects (so a straw man), especially in light of the timing of firing v. hiring, which caused a mass exodus of both roster players and 2026 recruits. As a result, the huge ISU influx is a necessary restoration of a roster, to be supplemented by portals in from other schools. That’s the next step, already underway.

You bought it not me. I saw them struggle with 1AA teams and it was obvious they were not winning chit.

4000 players in the portal. They dont have to recruit all ISU players. ISU backups are not taking down OSU.

PS. ARent you shifting gears from a Natty expectations to 8-4 ceiling?

Campbell is cherry picking players from the team that he coached. He knows what they are capable of under his system. There is a greater chance at success grabbing players that he is intimately familiar with than grabbing players from other ACC teams / BIG 12 teams with similar success or grabbing players from lower rated conferences with greater statistical success. Obviously, grabbing studs from the BIG or SEC is optimal but you are generally going to have to over pay for these players. Given the across the board needs for PSU, PSU is simply not in a position to overpay for a single stud at this point. Overpaying for a proven stud receiver or a stud linebacker would have been justified last year given the returning talent and high expectations, but not this year.

Hey cherry picking is a work of art --

Check out -

Any SEC team
I wouldn't so much call this cherry-picking as I would call it pumpkin picking. Anything that's orange (when you mix red/gold) PSU is picking up.

Exactly, these sports are for special needs students, mostly ones who will not ever graduate but rather age out at 21. Brady was probably a peer helper/partner for one of the kids. I would think very highly of someone with that on their resume

PSU is in a position where they must bring in two high priced DTs. There is just not enough experience at that position, other than Blanding now that Gilliam has left. Perhaps True Freshman Adirika will stay and make progress toward the two deep or Liam Andrews or Cook make a leap behind portal DTs? This is a critical position.

So has the DE from NW been confirmed to PSU?

PSU NIL team is slipping. There's a 584th ranked ISU safety out there. Make a place at the table !
Assuming that player is ranked 584th overall, that would still put him in the top 15% of players in the portal (assuming about 4,000 players in the portal). Sounds like he could be worth a look - or that CMC is being selective and focusing on ISU’s better players (as others have said).

There is something different about ISU from all of the other teams. Namely, ISU's former coach is now our coach, and a majority of the starters are transferring, possibly more than any other P4 school. Returning starters from an 8-4 P4 school are going to be in relatively high demand across the board. Our coach has an established connection with these returning starters so he can probably get them at a reasonable price, which is important when you have a finite amount of $ to spend and a lot of holes to fill. Of course we are starting there.
