Next year will be a cluster f$%@. Too much turnover. All the new pieces will not mesh.
"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"It’s over when we say it is.
"If the NCAA was smart" college athletics wouldn't be in this position. I don't believe any commissioner/president of any organization has been/is/was more incompetent than Mark Emmert.I f the ncaa was smart, they would break into minor league pros and college football. College would start with the Ivy League, but would grow
Yep, long way between now and 1/18/2026.We're going to see a lot of kids enter the portal between now and the 16th
We add Peoples--now some of our backs are going to leave. Can't add two backs and think everyone else is going to stay--or maybe even anyone else
College football is so screwed up right now.
I'm not sure the coaching carousel is over yet.Yep, long way between now and 1/18/2026.
Interesting. Not a school I would have predicted for him.

Despite deal at Washington, Demond Williams Jr. to transfer
Washington quarterback Demond Williams Jr. said on social media Tuesday night that he is entering the transfer portal, a move that comes just days after he agreed to return to the Huskies for the 2026 season.www.espn.com
What we're doing is totally different than what Indiana, Colorado, or any other team has done before. Why are you whining about 20 ISU guys? You do realize that by the time we're all done, we'll probably add 80+ new players to rebuild the entire roster. Why don't you explain what you'd be doing differently? He had to back fill, for sure, but 20 ISU guys? I hope the mass influx of transfers to PSU works more like Indiana than Colorado.
LSU and Miami seem like the dirtiest in this regard. Hope our conference gives full support to Washington to enforce the contract. A precedent must be set here. I know Georgia is also engaged in a similar fight. Why am I not surprised that rumors have LSU heavily involved with Williams?
There's so many questions thoughLSU and Miami seem like the dirtiest in this regard. Hope our conference gives full support to Washington to enforce the contract. A precedent must be set here. I know Georgia is also engaged in a similar fight.
Joe? Toledo? No one wins them all. But he was the best big game cosch ever…so there is that. And no program was tougher.Next year when the team is 7-5 the 10-2 players won't look so soft.
How mentally tough are all the players who are transferring in? Are they running from.competition?
Ps. How mentally tough were joes players who lost to toledo?

This! As my old college teammate from NJ would yell to our opponents, “take the skirts off”…Maybe it's the players that he isn't bringing with him that led to the 4 losses and the players that he is bringing are the ones who got the 8 wins!
Maybe we should just sit back and see what happens instead of criticizing a guy who is trying to make the team better and knows way more about what he is doing than any of us.
You know this how?Next year will be a cluster f$%@. Too much turnover. All the new pieces will not mesh.

To be fair, there is indeed quite a difference between news commentary shows on TV and newspaper journalism. However, it is also fair to note that the NYT has for quite a while allowed partisanship to seep into how they choose which stories get covered, which stories are placed above the fold, which stories are not covered, and how stories are covered with verbiage that may at times blend into editorializing. This is also not at all a unique phenomenon to the Times. To be a fully informed citizen does actually take a lot of effort, unfortunately. So what specific source of news do you follow that that adheres to rigorous journalistic standards? FYI, hyper-partisan commentary from opinion hosts from either Fox News nor CNN do not adhere to the same standards that the New York Times adheres to and that is an indisputable fact.

I believe most everyone wants certainty, and where there are options, these options will be considered and even pursued. The current count
46 lost players to the portal
36 players unannounced
22 incoming players from the portal
10 incoming freshmen recruits.
There are currently 68 players in the roster by my count. There is a lot of work still to be done. Tengwall prediction was a loss of 50 players to the portal and he nailed it.
It will certainly be different having taller targets all around the field too throw to. Of course, Becht is used to this.Looking at our WR room in regards to what we're getting from ISU and what we're keeping with Howard, I think we have a chance to be better at WR in 26 than we were in 25. Eskildsen, Sowell and Howard could be a strong group.
That's what many said about last year's group with respect to the 3 top transfer portal WRs...did we even get half of their production from the previous year?Looking at our WR room in regards to what we're getting from ISU and what we're keeping with Howard, I think we have a chance to be better at WR in 26 than we were in 25. Eskildsen, Sowell and Howard could be a strong group.
He still needs a waiver from NCAA for a 7th season. He will help them a lot, and unfortunately we will have to face him.
I would have preferred retaining the PSU roster as much possible. Maybe that’s not realistic, but I would have liked to see Coach Campbell coach up the guys that were on the roster for the bowl game. I find it ironic that the same whiners here that complained that Coach K, Knowles, and Yurcich stunk and only had success because they were in the Big 12 previously are now giddy to get players from a Big 12 team. Again, I hope all these guys find big success at PSU, I just wasn’t expecting 20 guys. I get it. They are experienced in Campbell’s system and can play right away, but it seems like a short term benefit. What we're doing is totally different than what Indiana, Colorado, or any other team has done before. Miracles eh?With that said, the Franklin stench is nearly completely cleaned up now. Considering just how stained with **** this program was, Campbell is performing miracles daily so far. Incredible.
I’m giving up on this thread until things settle. Right now it’s nothing more than monkey on crack doomscrolling for me; Williams from Washington was the final straw. Too much detail about the sausage making, I guess. YMMV.
Not sure about "a lot" Thought he was an average football player. Injuries took a tollHe will help them a lot, and unfortunately we will have to face him.
He's coming today.I think they still need to add a #1.
Me too… checking back around mid-March. We should have a team by then. Prollegiate sports is a jokeI’m giving up on this thread until things settle.
