So dumb that Melvin vs Jayden isn’t the last match. I know Bo is the most popular hs wrestler so I understand it but James vs Miller is THE match everyone wants to see
144 pound 3rd place- #3 Clinton Shepherd vs. #6 Robert Duffy (CBA)
Period 1:
Shepherd has the full face mask back on for this match. Here we go! Low stances by both to start us off. Shepherd works a drag. There's a bit of a scramble, then Shepherd flips Duffy to his back. He gets the TD, 3-0, & 4 NF, 7-0. Duffy bellies out, then Shepherd locks up a tilt. He adds 4 NF more, 11-0. Shepherd rides out the period.
Period 2:
Shepherd takes down. He turns, then works to his feet & gets the escape, 12-0. Shepherd presses forward. He tugs at his face mask a bit, then drops down to a low leg. Duffy locks through the crotch. Shepherd keeps working & exposes Duffy, then finishes the TD for the 15-0 Tech!

Penn State has four podium finishers so far today between the Ironman Tournament and Penn Manor Holiday Tournament. In Ohio, Class of 2027 commit Clinton Shepherd finished third, and classmate Gavin Mangano seventh, at 144 pounds. In Pa., Class of 2027 recruit Landon Sidun won the 121-pound title and classmate James Whitbred finished fifth at 160 pounds.

I believe this was Braylon Reynolds who then threw Shepard to his back a match later. Only difference was Shepard had enough of a lead and was able to fight off his back to win.
Same kid. He is clearly one you gotta watch out for no matter the score
His next 2 weekends will be at Beast of the East and Powerade.
I get the idea behind having the 150 lb final with Bassett as the last one. However, the Miller-James final could be next to last. Don't HAVE to have the finals go in order of weights.

Here's a match many of us have been waiting for. The announcer just called this the biggest match of the season. Let's hope it lives up to the billing. Here we go! Circling & shoulder tapping. James reaches, but can't get there. Circling, fakes & shoulder tapping again. Miller drops to both knees & looks for an underhook, but no luck. Tying up & hand fighting now. Miller goes back to both knees & tries another underhook. James dives in on an ankle, but Miller kicks away. Out of bounds & restart. Miller goes back to the underhook from both knees, then they work back to their feet. More circling & measuring each other out to end the period. 0-0
Period 2:
Miller takes down. James tries a suck back, then works back behind. Miller tries a switch, but James blocks him off. Miller works for the escape, 1-0. James shoots a head outside high-c & gets in deep. Miller gets an ankle too, then the toe & it's stopped for PD, neutral restart, 1-min left. James inches forward. Miller goes underhook to far ankle pick for the TD, 4-0, then he cuts James, 4-1. Out of bounds & neutral restart. James presses forward. James takes a wild shot & gets to a foot, but Miller kicks free. They're both down on their knees & time expires. 4-1 Miller

James shoots, Miller down blocks & they go out of bounds, 47-sec left. James creeps forward & takes Miller to the edge. James takes Miller out & Miller finally gets a stall warning. James' gas tank was better than Miller's. James was moving forward the whole match. Miller was moving backwards, sucking wind in the 3rd.

Big matches like that don’t always live up to the hype. This one did. One of the better high school matches in recent memory
