Correct about the jump stop. Too many officials let players get away with not landing on two feet. And now they're allowing a little too much when it comes to gathering passes and going into shots. There have been too many times in the first two rounds of this Tournament where I've called out 'that's a travel' without a whistle.
Guys were traveling all over the place in the St John’s game, even when they were not being pressured way beyond the 3 point line. Also a lot of carrying of the ball on the dribble and some woeful shooting. Not a great display of fundamentals all around in that game.

Boy was St. John’s a letdown. I hope Pitino stays and takes this program to the next level.
I thought St. John’s played as if it were the 80’s Big East. Too cringe for me to enjoy.

Wade, Pitino, and Buzz losing would be a great way to start the day…karma is a nice thing sometimes.

St. John's - Arkansas has been entertaining.

St. John's is trailing, late, which isn't good for me, as I think I have them in the Final Four or even winning in one of my pools.
I had St. John's going to Elite Eight but they lost today. Their inability to shoot caught up with them. 28% shooting. Terrible.

Another nice Big Ten win with Michigan.

That Texas Tech-Arkansas game on Thursday night will be a good one.
That Michigan team is coming on strong. Two really good bigs, solid wing shooters and Donaldson running point. Aggressive on the boards at both ends and bigs are adept passers. Dusty May is a really good coach. Might have been offered the IU job after Woodsen was let go but must know UM has huge NiL pot to work with. Expect they'll continue to rise in the B1G and right now on a good NCAA run.

It all depends on how well Michigan's guards play. They were fantastic today.

As someone that would benefit from a Colorado St win, I can’t believe that they didn’t look at that Nique Clifford elbow…that was a F2 to me. Saved points, and kept their best player in the game.

Then to end the half, how does Willard not have Maryland fouling? Gave away 2 free points.

So you must have really loved the no-call on the Queen walk on the buzzer beater.

I had no problem with it. I want consistency, and that’s not called a travel these days.

But a Maryland loss there would have knocked out 50% of all my survivor pools, and I didn’t have any exposure to them (not to mention CSU would have helped in several bracket pools, and a Calcutta).

it might have been a walk but either way it makes up for the flagrant not called on CSU at the end of half 1
Yes, the refs missed that one for sure. But I get a kick out of the 'what abouts' on the re-litigation of a game when something happens at the very end that is controversial.

Ive coached 20+ years, a couple at D3 as an asst. I get what you are saying, but the non-foul at the end of the 1st had a huge part in how the 2nd half was played. Probably affected the game outcome more than any other play outside of the last possession of the game for each team. Thats why I'll bring it up because a 50/50 call on the walk shouldn't even be talked about since the other call isn't.

And I wouldn't call it a 50/50 call...the way the game is officiated today, that wasn't a walk. Calling it in that instance would go completely against how traveling has been called all game/season.

If they called it a flagrant 2, no question that changes the game. There’s been a lot less that has been F1 and I’m shocked this wasn’t checked considering all the little things that warrant a run to the monitor. I didn’t see that play when it happened cuz my attention was on one of the other games in the triple box. But that’s a really bad miss.

FWIW, this ref yelled out ‘that’s a walk’ before Queen shot it so I probably would have needed an escort and witness protection assistance.

Here is my question...are you yelling that 20 times/game, or did you think that this play was an outlier and should have been called? Applying the principals of 20 years ago and we probably get 10 additional illegal screens called each game too, but it evolves and the points of emphasis change.

The Queen play didn't stand out to me at all. These types of moves are happening every game...ie, the play below is pretty similar and also didn't make me think twice during the game.

Where did you hear that? I've heard nothing of the sort.
My son… lives in Boston… apparently Hurley, with cameras and microphones all over, walking off the court told Baylor players or fans “Hope they don’t f**k you like they did us!” Referring to the refs… UConn admin not to happy. Looking now online to see how true this is

It's true that he said it...very doubtful that would ever lead to a multiple game suspension. I'm sure the twitter-mob is after him, but I haven't seen any reputable media mention any type of suspension.

It was absolutely a walk…I don’t care either way, but no matter how it’s called these days, it’s a walk.

Haha, you wouldn't like watching a game with me then because yes, there are a lot of games where I watch it like an official and I'm yapping about walks and especially the illegal screens. Throw in my complaints about all of these crybaby coaches not getting T'd up while they're acting the fool and there aren't many officials I think are worthy enough of advancing in the tournament.
