Just to clarify, I was talking about Mississippi State beating Baylor today, not winning the title. I have selected Florida to win the title.I’m not bothering trying to remember who I picked. I have Maryland winning it all, what a doofus.

I would have called it in a heartbeatJust to clarify, the European two-step we see nowadays, just now actually, would that have been a travel when we were kids?
I think so.Just to clarify, the European two-step we see nowadays, just now actually, would that have been a travel when we were kids?
Really good game.Baylor-Mississippi State going down to the wire.
Played at LaSalle in Philly?A back-in-the-day player who was built like players are nowadays: Larry Cannon.
Late Sixties, yeah, 23-1 in ‘68-69. Kenny Durrett was on that team. Banned from NCAA tournament.Played at LaSalle in Philly?
Depends. It's not the Euro-step itself, it's the "gather step" that's allowed that would likely change a variety of old-timey travels into legal moves in today's game. There has been a lot of loosening of ball-handling and footwork calls that have made the game "too easy," when you consider just how big and athletic these guys are, and how much they practice and compete today. It also adds to the seeming uneven refereeing, since there's so many judgment calls, in the middle of complex movements.Just to clarify, the European two-step we see nowadays, just now actually, would that have been a travel when we were kids?
The first time I saw a Eurostep in a HS game, I called it as a travel. It looked weird so it had to be illegal. But considering you have always gotten those two steps when going to the basket (think of the steps you'd take on the run when going in for a layup), the Eurostep is the same thing but in two different directions. With how big these players are now, they get a lot more length out of those 2 steps, which really makes it look illegal. The players are so long and athletic. I don’t have a trained eye by any means but I think the D nowadays is remarkable. I think that without the three point line the game would be unwatchable.
UNC getting hammered.
they were.
now just down by 4, with 5 minutes left
Pretty much emblematic of the Tar Heels all season. Fall behind big to good teams. Make a furoius comeback. Get it to 2-4. Lose by 8-10. Been a fan since the days of Phil Ford and Mike O'Koren. Really difficult team to watch this year.and then UNC goes cold for the last 5 minutes. Pretty much over: 71-64, Ole Miss, with 9.8 sec left (I've got to run, or I'd wait for the end of the game)
Yes, I think Kenny was the focus of receipt of improper benefits. That was a great team.Late Sixties, yeah, 23-1 in ‘68-69. Kenny Durrett was on that team. Banned from NCAA tournament.
Another "pet peve" of mine is how players palm the ball when dribbling.Depends. I picked St. Mary's to win that game. Really tight.Vanderbilt-Saint Mary’s going down to the wire.
Is Hubert Davis on the hot seat?Pretty much emblematic of the Tar Heels all season. Fall behind big to good teams. Make a furoius comeback. Get it to 2-4. Lose by 8-10. Been a fan since the days of Phil Ford and Mike O'Koren. Really difficult team to watch this year.
Oh well, on to the next game. Rooting for chaos. Not much yet. Pretty chalky.
Didn't watch that game. How did R.J. Davis play for Tar Heels?Pretty much emblematic of the Tar Heels all season. Fall behind big to good teams. Make a furoius comeback. Get it to 2-4. Lose by 8-10. Been a fan since the days of Phil Ford and Mike O'Koren. Really difficult team to watch this year.

Not well enough.Didn't watch that game. How did R.J. Davis play for Tar Heels?
But technically you don’t get two steps, you get a step and half (off the dribble or while catching a pass). The euro step is often coming off the half step off the dribble, which actually ends up being two and a half steps, which is a travel. They’ve also allowed the jump stop to evolve into something that should be a travel….when we played, you had to land with both feet at the same time, but now they often land one foot first then the next one, which should be a travel, but they let it go.The first time I saw a Eurostep in a HS game, I called it as a travel. Signed an extension through 2030He should be
I went 22-10 in the 1st round for Thursday & Friday. I am not participating in the BWI March Madness. Just something I do on my own and compare with family & friends.“I’m out! Yea, I’m outta the contest!”

4-39 for threes, both teams. Arkansas looks to have it in hand.St. John's - Arkansas has been entertaining.
St. John's is trailing, late, which isn't good for me, as I think I have them in the Final Four or even winning in one of my pools.
Ugly, but fun to watch. Lappas is going postal over the St. John's line-up.An ugly game.
