A new NFL year, so it's time to start a NFL News thread.

A reminder that this is for general news, trades, During the offseason (leading up to the 2026 season) and during the 2026 season. It is not for game threads, threads about NFL games in Week X, playoff games, or FA signings.

So now we know why the Maxx Crosby trade fell apart. It’s because I mentioned it in the NFL Free Agent thread, and it was a trade, not a FA signing. Things went south from there. Funny how things work out…

LOL. In your defense, I posted a few trades in that thread as well, as I had not yet set up the News thread for the season. I did avoid posting about players signing new contracts, or reworking their contracts to give a team more cap space, in the FA thread. Going forward, I can post that info here

The Maxx Crosby situation is a debacle. Ravens will have a lot of difficulty making deals moving forward. Poor Maxx probably ends up in Dallas

So you think all this will backfire on Baltimore? (This aside from the very public slap in the face to Crosby. Not cool at all.)

GMs will have concerns about making major deals with them but how often do deals like that happen in the NFL? There's minimal impact but I don't think anyone is buying the medical reasoning as them pulling out of the deal

I understand the Dolphins are in sell mode
I don't understand what the Broncos think that trade was accomplishing. We'll see how Waddle does in Denver. Maybe Payton will look like a genius but this was bust written all over it.

I knew they were carrying a lot of dead money, but I didn't realize it was this bad.
