The state of Iowa had a good day in Zegreb...
Spencer and DeSanto -IOWA
David Carr- Iowa State
and Keckeisen- Nothern Iowa....

Except 3 out of 4 (all but Parker) are PA boys!
Despite David's dad and lineage being PA wrestling royalty, and the fact David spent nearly as much time in Lorenzo and Lock Haven's rooms as he did the ISU room i think Ohio gets to claim David Carr.

Keck beat the guy who teched Zahid. With that and Keck beating Zahid at RAF looks like Keck is the favorite to be our 86kg rep. Carr beat Aoyagi in the finals who's been at penn st training a bit
Keck would have to get through Dake before getting to Valencia and that matchup has been rather one sided to this point.

Dake forgot about the old guy 😂. Keck seems to keep jumping levels and we don't see Dake much. I'm with you gotta favor Dake until we see otherwise

I’m not following as closely this morning but want to do a few matches if I catch them

Hidlay vs Rahmani up now

Trent bulls in and Rahmani goes Hi crotch. Just gets 1. 1-0

Same position but Rahmani goes fireman’s and gets 4 on the edge! 5-0

Trent over aggressive on the edge and Rahmani gets a step out. 6-0

Iran has scouted Trent well. Super prepared for his aggression and underhook

Trent getting destroyed with this fireman’s/high c out of his underhook. Another Td for Rahmani. 8-0

Td Trent. 8-2. 2:00 left

4 for Trent!! 8-6 but Iran challenging. This is close. Might be points both ways

Challenge lost! 8-7 now. 1:43 left

Step out Trent. 9-7 off the same action

Trent with a double that should be 4. Refs talking if it’s 1 or 4. Only 1 given. Bad call. 9-8

2 Trent for exposure on the edge! He takes the lead. 10-9

1 more for Trent on a step out. 11-9

Trent wins 11-9!!

What a ******* match. Match of the tournament. Rahmani wrestled great but Trent doesn’t stop coming at you. Impressive by both guys

Hamiti vs Wick semifinal coming up

Wick shoots a double. Switched to a single and gets a step out. 1-0

Hamiti with a low single. Converts and then adds a gut. 4-1 Hamiti

4-1 at the break

Wick with a down block go behind for a td. 4-3

Wick in deep but Hamiti defending well. Wick gets the exposure though to go up 5-4

Hamiti scores a td with :03 left to win 6-5!

Hidlay vs Mike Mac semifinal coming up next

Plott vs Azimi the other semi. We should most likely get a Azimi vs Hidlay rematch in the finals

Hidlay powers an underhook to a quick td. 2-0

Mike Mac gets 1 at the buzzer. 2-1 at the break

Mike Mac doing a good job of slowing the match and defending Trent’s underhook

Mike Mac gets a Td. 3-2

Trent gets a step out back. He retakes the lead 3-3 on criteria

1:30 left. Trent getting his head taped up to stop the bleeding

Trent looking a bit tired. Not wrestling like his usual self

Trent holds on for a 3-3 criteria win. He’s not pleased. Definitely was not his aggressive self but Mike Mac wrestled well. Used his own underhook to control Hidlay for portions of the match

Azimi teched Plott so it’s an Azimi Hidlay final

Yazdani vs Margishvili in 1 semifinal

Buchanan vs Viskhanov in the other semi

Yazdani looks big at 97kg. I can’t tell if it’s all good weight or not

Buchanan with a super quick tech to make the finals

Yazdani up 8-4 at the break

Yaz wins 14-4

Yazdani vs Buchanan final

97kg at worlds this year has the potential to be one of the best weights ever. We could have Sadulaev, Taz, Snyder, and Yazdani! 4 all timers. First ballot hall of famers. I hope Sadulaev gets to compete and Yazdani rounds into form. It could be one for the record books

Wyatt vs Baran in 1 semi

Sharipov vs Kosciolek in the other

Wyatt in deep on a single. Cuts it back and gets 4. 4-0

Wyatt in another shot and gets the 2 plus a turn for 2. 8-0

Wyatt shoots a double and runs Baran all the way onto the next mat. Just 1 though. 9-0

Baran gets a step out. 9-1

9-1 at the break

Wyatt defends a Baran shot and turns it into his own attack. Gets the Td and the 11-1 tech!

I think Trent hurt his arm (maybe elbow) in the match with Rahmani. That may be why he doesn't seem himself.

79 - Hamiti into finals, Braunagel vs Wick for bronze
92 - Hidlay to finals, Plott vs Mikey Mac for bronze
97 - Buchanan to finals
125 - Hendrickson to finals, Thomas in repechage

Bottom line, a USA wrestler in all finals and 4 or possibly 5 others in medal matches

Women’s wrestling started today with 50kg and 55kg. They will have 4 weights go tomorrow and the last 4 on Saturday. 68kg is the weight to watch with Kennedy Blades, Miwa Morikawa, and Nesrin Bas

Despite David's dad and lineage being PA wrestling royalty, and the fact David spent nearly as much time in Lorenzo and Lock Haven's rooms as he did the ISU room i think Ohio gets to claim David Carr.
You are correct...David Carr is 100% Ohio. Perry High School, Massillon, OH. His dad coached him there.
