Bruton? Come on man. No disrespect to them, but they had no business in a playoff game to begin with. Poq will have their hands full tonite against a Greensville team that beat the 1A top dog Sussex 30-28. That is no easy feat, especially considering Sussex very rarely gives up more than 1 td per game. Would not be surprised at all to see Poq get upset
Twobyfour, you come on, MAN. My post earlier in this thread was based not on the fact that Poquoson beat Bruton, but rather based on the way they dominated them, especially as only three weeks prior Poquoson only won 28-17, after trailing 17-14 at the half.
You've done nothing but bash Poquoson on this board all year long, as if they finished the regular season 3-7 instead of 7-3. And all of their losses were to quality opponents - Lafayette, Smithfield and York.
And one other thing, Poquoson 49 Greensville 0. So much for your Sussex Central theory.

If I didn't know better, I'd say Duty rested players the last 4-5 games of the season, knowing he had one of the top seeds locked down. It happens in college and pros but seldom at this level. There is a statistically significant change in the team's performance through the final games of the regular season. Suddenly in the playoffs, they are playing back up to their potential. Smells fishy (Poquoson pun)
I only have bits and pieces of what's going on behind the scenes, but Poquoson seems to be playing with a different attitude. We will see what happens next week at Goochland when things get very real.

sounds like to me YOU got hit upside your head with a 2x4......im gonna take a stab at this.and i mean im really spitballing here........but, you have lost every ounce of credibility when it comes to any topic involving, and im mean any level, football......as a consolation our 6 injured players were put on reserve tonight, they will be able to play again next week.

So most people could or would assume since Greensville scored 30 points on them, and beat them, and they are the state runner up fom a year ago, that they would give Poq a tough hard game. Is it really that far fetched to assume this, given Sussex may win the 1A title? Especially since they seemed to no be playing well as of late? No, I havent been impressed with Poq all year. So what. Dont like my post dont read em. The win over Greensville was impressive. Next week should be a real slobberknocker

I don't know how accurate it is to compare teams that have played against other teams, etc,. But, one might be able to assume that the game with Greensville would not have been as tough for Poquoson because Poquoson hammered Southampton 23-7 at Southampton, and Southampton won on the road at Sussex 7-0. More important, Southampton also beat Greensville 37-14, and the Southampton game with Poquoson was more lob-sided than the score suggested (23-7). I am surprised Southampton lost this weekend. I thought they would advance to the 3rd round. They had a good football team and this was as impressive in my opinion, as any win Poquoson has had all season.
I agree you can't really compare teams that way. Once you get beyond head-to-head matchups, it becomes meaningless. Greensville beat Park View by 40, Park View beat Southampton by 2, Following those scores, Greensville-Poquoson should have been close. It was not.
