Best wishes to everyone hoping it changes my understanding is that Saint and Hickory both have already filed against being in the proposed conference they were put in not sure how much truth there is to that but I feel like Saint got screwed and I can't see a 9 team conference with Catawba County Schools and Lincoln County Schools with West Iredell but strange times in High School sports
I think they'll get rid of most if not all 9 team leagues. I think that was a big complaint.
They being the NCHSAA said smaller conferences when they started this realignment process!! Surprised of a 9 team conference like that hopefully it changes for the better!!
Would sure be nice if NCHSAA would release some additional details on some of their decisions...

They said prior to releasing all the info there would be smaller conferences of no more than 6, 7 teams!! I do not understand for the life of me why they didn't keep everyone together in that region!! There were too many Split conferences in my estimations and again why is Hickory playing everyone else in Catawba County and Saint having to travel to Boone, Morganton, and as far as Marion for conference games!! Can't imagine traveling to Boone on a Tuesday night for Basketball in the middle of dead winter!!!! Lastly, you have a 9 team conference with Hickory, East and North Lincoln, West Iredell, Foard, Bandys, Maiden, Bunker Hill, and Newton-Conover!! That's 8 conference games and only 2 non Conference games not to mention what do you do with scheduling for other sports!! Alot of teams got screwed here and this has to be fixed!!

What little bit I've seen...it's possibly worse. More bigger conferences...even an 11 team conference.
It's almost like having 8 classes was a stupid idea.
We'll spend all our budget touring 3 counties over...
They may well have put this out just to get us to shut up about their previous effort and accept it.

Yep. You, too. And add another hour if you have to travel to Lincoln Charters East campus of Publicly funded private school.

Y'all going to have to get rolling pretty fast this year lol one non conference game to warm up and then week two hitting conference play
It's crazy that folks like Griz and Simmons can put this stuff together in there spare time while a whole committee can't put something together that makes sense.
I get some difficult area's but certain areas are easy as hell. Like the unifour area here.
Seems like a lot of moving parts with no common guideline/direction.
The problem is the word committee. I'm usually for collaboration but this kind of effort needs a czar.
The old joke is that a camel is a horse designed by a committee.
It looks like the easiest solution to the 10 and 11 school conferences in the west would be to put the 4a mountain schools with the Rutherford schools. You would have three 7 school conferences as a result.
That's what I keep saying about the Greater Sandhills and having them go from 2 9-teams to 3 6-teams
