Well that was a disappointing win. Felt like Ball State, S. Dakota State, McNeese State. Ugggg.

Dam lucky to pull that one out. Game will be over at half if that's the team that shows up next weekend.
Certainly a ton of improvement needed, but the only team that was damn lucky was ASU. 10 gift points from the refs the difference between sweating out a last drive and wondering if they'll beat the spread with one last meaningless score.

Refs were not the reason our D was Swiss cheese. Some skeptical calls sure...but man, that was embarrassing.

Look on the bright side. Oregon had 703 yards today. Maybe they'll be worse than Arkansas State next week

I said that clearly improvement is needed, but they literally broke the written rules in the rule book to give them the chance to kick the field goal at the end of the first half. If they truly stopped play because an ASU player lost his helmet, they broke the rules. By rule, in the last minute of a half, if a player loses his helmet, and it wasn't the result of a foul (no penalty called), the opponent has the option for a 10 second runoff. Not to mention if he purposely removed his helmet, that's an Unsportsmanlike Penalty. Plain and simple, no room for debate, the refs gifted them a chance at 3 points they shouldn't have gotten. You can debate that roughing penalty (it was a terrible call, but to each his own), but there is no debate about the field goal. Take out two points for the safety, 7 points for the punt return, and 7 points that were gifted by the refs (we'll be nice and assume they kick a field goal after not getting crap roughing penalty), that's 20 points given up by the defense. Not great, but certainly not give up on the season awful.
