Who if anyone do you think or know that could be on the move for 2nd semester? Doesn't have to be to or from PSU.

I’m surprised that no one- especially Slumlord Bob- has yet to offer a bag to Aaron Pico. He was insanely good in high school- choosing freestyle over folk after his freshman season. Focus was on Olympics, then MMA after losing in 2016 OTT finals to Frank the Tank. Should still have all his NCAA eligibility. A lot of miles on his body but he’d definitely be worth taking a chance on.

I believe the main reason is that he is under contract and couldn't sign with a college even if he wanted to.

His eligibility clock automatically started 1 year after HS graduation. His time evaporated. There is nothing to offer.
Is that true? Then how did Chris Weinke end up a college QB? How is there a 50 year old playing football for Lycoming? How do Mormons play for four years after completing their two year missions?

Eligibility Timeline

Division I five-year clock
If you play at a Division I school, you have five-calendar years in which to play four seasons of competition. Your five-year clock starts when you initially enroll as a full-time student at any college or university in a regular academic term. Thereafter, your clock continues, even if there is a decision to redshirt, if you do not attend school or even if you go part time during your college career.

Why do people get their panties in a twist over older students playing sports? Honestly, I think concept of an eligibility clock is a horses#!t rule. I have no problem with five years to compete four seasons, but why have a clock that continues to run if you leave school for a few years? If a kid needs to leave for a few years to get their act together before coming back to college, why not let them play a sport if they still have the chops?

Leaving to play professionally is an entirely different animal.

D3 and D1 rules differ as well as military service, pregnancy and church missions stop the clock. Most sports allow a gap year though. Overseas national team membership can start the clock as well in D1. D2 and D3 have much easier rules with older and former pro athletes

The media needs to ask Cael if we’re going to see Ono in a couple tournaments next mouth/January. Meaning open tournaments to preserve his red shirt.

Leaving to play professionally does seem to be it's own consideration. Simply appeal, give a cash donation to eligibility committee and it's all good.

I believe they should eliminate the clock and replace it with a maximum age. If you come out of high school a year early, you should get an extra year in college. If you come out of high school at 19 or 20, you should get less time.

To me, a maximum age makes even less sense than an eligibility clock.

it seems to work well for U17, U20, and U23’s. if you want to redshirt a kid in elementary, Jr high, or even college, nobody cares.

When you hit a maximum age, you’re done.

Outside of Billy Madison, adults don’t reenroll and attend elementary, middle, or high school. Adults reenrolling in college, or never starting until much later in life has been part of college for a long time. If they are a student in good academic standing, why shouldn’t they be allowed to participate in a college activity like sports?

So yeah a male at peak physical performance at 28 squaring up against an 18-19 year old has no distinctive advantage at all. Maybe get a clue? Thats why they have u23 u20 etc

His eligibility is long over. No religious mission nor Active duty military.

Has Pico ever enrolled in a college or University? If not......then his clock has not started.

unless you go on a 2 year religious mission. here you need to co-ordinate with your college when the mission starts and ends. Matt Brown is one example.

With college sports essentially being professional and the idea of a "student athlete" kind of a joke, I don't think it matters now. A handful of years ago you could make a logical argument as to eligibility having strict guidelines.
