Above, folks mentioned Pat Pop & Erisman as possible HC candidates for Iowa
In one of the many fire brands/hire DT threads I started/contributed to.
He was pretty adamant it would be someone from the family. This was even in the fantasy scenario that DT was available
Yeah, that was me. Point stands, those are good hires.
Would they do that? Yeah, it’s business.
With the grit that Northern Iowa has with Schwab, I think if he took that to Iowa, they would be pretty damn good.
Schwab was an assistant for Brands at Virginia Tech. What’s with the bad blood now? Is it because he took the job at UNI? Can you imagine if we hated all the wrestlers that coach other teams now? That’s a lot of coaches and teams. Ridiculous!

No way OSU ever hires a non Ok St alum as their HC
This is honestly the hire and the one I’m most scared of.
Schwab getting Iowa-level talent would be scary good imo. I think his antics in the corner can be annoying at times, but he is ready to go hard for his guys at the drop of a hat.
I said this after the UNI dual but the other thing that I think he correctly gets his flowers for is his ability to build a culture. How many other coaches keep a guy like Keck from going elsewhere? Especially when his program doesn’t even have a permanent gym at the moment. I don’t know if T&T go anywhere anytime soon short of a scandal or a shocking crash-and-burn in the postseason, but Schwab would be (to me) a no-brainer hire.

I’d say good luck getting Jordan to leave the east coast; but I think 99% of people would have said the same thing about DT leaving Pennsylvania for Oklahoma lol
I would be less concerned about Jordan that I would Schwab.
He runs a youth academy right now. Similar to what DT had with M2 in Pennsylvania
His kids are part of the youth academy also, I think he wants to go the Cormier/Askren coaching/broadcasting/etc. route rather than the full time college HC route
