Was just watching Roy Toy make the announcement... Bars, Restaurants, Etc get 50%, we get 30.....
I am not a bar goer, but I am glad these businesses can hopefully start to make some money again.
30% will hopefully at least get players parents into away games.
Why not make it effective now so we can watch games tomorrow
Also wonder with curfew lifted will start times move back to 7:30 as we move forward or will 7pm become the new norm?
Probably didn't even realize games had been moved. Is the eastern part of the state even getting rain this week? We know the west doesn't matter.
Contact the Gov office and let them know. Just sent a message to them.
Better off contacting the school and askin them to play in the rain lol
A few Mountain games have been moved due to forcast of snow/freezing rain friday. I'm not sure about the east.
A lot have been moved in mountains....alleghany vs ashe.....elkin vs starmount.......robbinsville vs Rosman....I think some more.
Does standing areas in stadiums count towards stadium capacity?
I bet it's the fire Marshall number for the stadium.
Seems like I read some place earlier in the week that if capacity is not known then square footage is to be used.
I think that's how they've done things since all this started. I've seen capacity in a gym. Don't think I've ever seen it posted on a football field.
Many fire departments have that information on stadiums. It is derived by square footage of bleachers. Not sure the exact calculation. I know Thomasville’s for each side. Thirty percent would be about 1200, though less on the visitors’ side than home.
Probably will be a conference or school system decision.

Chris Hughes Stadium project had us hold 2,000 before the remodeling of the visitor side. I was told it was 2,500 now but have also been told it was a lil less than 2,500.

Noone will allow 30% on Thursday I would imagine. That would be asking for trouble with the NCHSAA.
Doing it by Friday will be tough on short notice, though im sure some schools will pull it off.. I have seen some schools move games to sat or Monday already, but most I would guess, will say with 100 this week, especially if theyve moved to thursday because of the possibility of rain.
Also, school systems have to make the decision too, they could choose to allow less, which some i would bet would do- those that have been super cautious already.
The good news is that its gone up. I am pretty sure almost everyone will give the visitors some tickets now after the raising of the limit, although it will certainly be a much lower number than the home team. Unless its a super small seating area.

Many schools allowing 30% capacity tonight. That's a fact
It should have been announced as effective immediately on Tuesday instead of 5:00 start Friday. Lot of folks missing out on football and basketball tonight that may have been allowed to attend.
If true, they better hope the NCHSAA doesnt find out. They have been specifically warned not to do that. i am sure there would be a hefty fine that would negate any $ they got in gate receipts.
The Governor has consistently issued these orders effective at 5 pm on Friday. Ball games are important to us, and to many people, but these EO’s are about much more than high school sports. He is being consisten.

Yeah I know, my business was shut down for 6 months so I’ve paid pretty close attention to the EOs. This is a sports forum therefore my view on the EO was based on how it effected sports and me watching my son and daughter play is all. I don’t need a moral or ethics lesson on Covid EOs. But thanks.
Wasn’t offering one. Several folks have asked why it is effective when it is, and I posted my opinion of why I think it was that way. No harm intended. Hope your kids have a great season, and you get to enjoy it.
Hopefully we all get to enjoy it in person at some point.
