Today is my 39th wedding anniversary. In honor of I would like us to think of athletes that have worn the number 39. I don't think there are too many so it's doing to be tough. I can only think of a couple off the top of my head.

First, Happy Anniversary. 39 years is an incredible achievement. I'm going to need you to give some advice in this thread.

As for the question, Dwight Howard is actually wearing 39 right now for the Lakers. The only others that are jumping out to me are Larry Csonka (before my time) and Rafael Soriano with the Braves.

Thanks for these threads, skysdad! They exercise my brain. Dodgers catcher, Roy Campanella, wore 39. One of my dad's favorite players.

Campanella was from philadelphia and went to Simon Gratz High School, the same school that produced Rasheed Wallace a half-century later

Rasheed wallace wore 36 in the NBA. It looked awful. He wore 30 in high school and college. 36 didn't look right at all.

Happy Anniversary Sky!! Can’t think of anyone off the top of my head who wore 39 though.
