1. HV with W
2. MV with W
3. Heritage with W
4. Abington with W
5. NS with W
6. WA with W

3-5 could come down to +/- 1 bonus point here or there based on other games this week. Seems like Heritage has the most bonus pts to gain?

Anyone else see anything different here?

Liberty will be at least a #2 with a win. Will be #1 with a HV loss.
MV will be #1 with a HV and Liberty loss.
Heritage would not be ahead of Abingdon if both win. Both will gain the same points for the win (2A with 8 wins) but Abingdon is expected to gain huge bonus points from previous opponents.
NS would likely stay ahead Heritage if both win but it would be very close if everything went perfectly for Heritage.

An HV win over Cave Spring is not a lock.
MV, NS and WA should have easy wins.
Heritage vs Nottoway and Abingdon vs Marion appear to be coin flip games IMO.
Liberty is an underdog to JF

I'm with you on the HV/CS game. I was talking to a HV insider today and he was telling me they are really banged up for their game with Cave. I could see Cave possibly squeaking out a W. The Liberty game really intrigues me. It's going to tell a lot about both them and JF. When all is said and done, where do you feel NS will end up? I think despite our injuries this year we still stand a a decent shot at a deep run. We certainly will be amongst the most physical teams in the field IMO.

I have heard enough of the same from my HV insider that I actually picked Cave in the Pick em.
Liberty can beat JF but I think JF has just enough defense to get the job done.
NS is currently a 3 seed but will fall a spot if Liberty wins and will fall a spot if Abingdon wins.
If I had to bet I would say we will be a 4 seed. I personally don't care if we are a 3 or a 4 but I wouldn't want to be the 5 and lose a home game. Of course if we end up as the 5 it would mean that Abingdon would be the 4. I would love to have that match up but would prefer not to have the road trip.

Question to power pointers

If Liberty loses and Heritage, Abingdon and Brookville all win. Does Liberty fall to 8 and all three teams jump them or would they still be ahead of Brookville? As a Liberty fan, I'm hoping they avoid Magna Vista side of the bracket over everyone else just because of their ability to pass the ball. I've got Magna Vista, Northside and James Monroe a step ahead of the rest of 3A. A number of other teams can beat those guys though, don't get me wrong. There is no Northside from last year in the field. Without Muse and now Hall, that DL isn't as dominant as last years. That DL won the tournament last year, they dominated the LOS in every game, shut down MV and JM potent passing attacks because neither team had time to throw the ball. This year, no team has that type of DL. No team really has that type of defense, I'm expecting a shootout in the 3A final, regardless of who makes it there. Now that I've started babbling, all I really wanted to know was how far Liberty would fall if they lose to JF and all teams around them win.

Re: Question to power pointers

With a loss I have Liberty tied with Western Albemarle because they will still get 22 points for the loss. I have Heritage finishing slightly ahead of Liberty but only if the bonus points go their way.
I think there are 4 teams in the east and maybe 5 in the west that I give a shot to.
Lafayette, Kettle Run, JM and Loudon Valley in the east.
HV, MV, NS, Liberty and Heritage in the west.
Each of these team do something well enough to win their way to Lynchburg.
Each of these teams have also shown an issue or two that could send them packing early.
I wouldn't want to make a firm prediction until the final seedings come out because I think a lot will depend upon who each of these teams face in the playoffs.
Overall at this point I like Loudon Valley in the east and Northside in the west because each of these teams seam to be the most versatile plus I tend to lean towards tough, physical teams.

Re: Question to power pointers

Even with a loss, Liberty would be at 248 pts before bonus points. That would be 7th before bonus points. That would be ahead of Cburg if they win at 244 and Brookville at 241 before bonus pts. For tiebreakers, I think Western Albemarle would win a tiebreaker with Liberty or Heritage because they played a team that only played a 9 game public school schedule in Monticello.

The top part of 3A west looks pretty equal. If anybody could surprise from the bottom 8 I would say Maybe LB. They are one dimensional but their run game is hard to stop and the defense is strong. I wonder if they regret dropping Salem from their schedule? It seems to have really hurt them points wise this year. I have a feeling HV loses this week as well. I really want a rematch with HV for Northside I know all the guys are hoping for one too. It should be a real wide open playoffs with some surprises with so many teams being equal.
