2nd week in a row I've had to eat crow. Didn't see that coming. DeKalb better be ready for Evans show next weekend.

Hat's off from this Libertyville supporter to a great CG program! As a fan of line play and power football, was looking forward to potential CG/PR matchup next week. Thus begins year 1 of the A.P. (After Pennington) Era. Reminds me of Major Ogilvie's 6 year career at 'Bama!Hats off to the Barbs. Some big plays by them including a long TD run, converting on a couple of third and longs that led to scores, and a good pick on a poor pass decision by CG which led to a score. CG was able to move the ball on the ground well but some untimely penalties hurt them, as did that turnover. Some missed calls by the refs, one of which was an obvious hold that on the next play allowed the Barbs to score with two seconds left in the first half. Regardless, CG didn't execute today and DeKalb made some big plays. Good luck to DeKalb next week against Prairie Ridge who scored over 50 points in the first half today.
At the game yesterday and the barbs Exposed CG's weakness and that was the DB's. Look at round one against wheeling and wheeling had over 300 passing yards. Now granted they didn't score but the fact is they had a lot of passing yards and the Barbs certainly capitalized on it. Barbs could give PR a few head aches but i think PR will shut them down. And to stop PR's offense good luck.
DeKalb was 8 for 12 for 156 yards in the game so not exactly lighting it up, but they had success on some big plays when they needed it. The Barbs gained more yards on the ground than in the air and overall were still outgained by CG in total yards; but it is the scoreboard that counts at the end of the game, not offensive yards.
Exactly my point. Few of those big plays im not sure if the DB's were starring at the clouds or the ball going into the receivers hands untouched. Not being sarcastic but my god some of those plays were to easy for the Barbs.Averaging 13 yards per pass attempt IS lighting it up.
CG never has any size in the secondary. They rely on speed. It's how PR beat them, with a 6-4" tight end. If you have a passing game and a tall receiver, throw it up high and you'll have a field day. As for their offense, live by the option and die by the option. Sooner or later other teams figure out how to defend it.Exactly my point.
