What 4-0 team will struggle to get to five wins? Or maybe 6 if points are low?

Is there any 0-4 that could make a run to 5-4?

I don't know if Thornridge gets to 5 wins. Stagg will be there best chance.

St. Joes will need Six and not sure if they get there or not.

Thornridge may not get in at 5-4 because their 1st 4 opponents stand at 2-15 currently. (Note: 1 Indiana opponent has played 5 games which makes the game total 17, not 16)

IHSA will on take their first 9 games therefore the point total will balance out. Example, if a team is 9-1 after week 9 in Illinois, you will receive 8 playoff points unless the team was 9-0 prior to their first loss.

I don't know a ton about this team but I will say 4-0 Marmion loses next 5.
A Lombard (Montini) 1-3 1085.70
Oak Park (Fenwick) 4-0 1943.70
H Burbank (St. Laurence) 3-1 1597.20
A Chicago (De La Salle) 4-0 1532.85
H Chicago (St. Rita) 2-2 1993.20

T-ridge could go 6-3 (and what a feat for Jennings!)

DLS is looking uphill after the SF game. (But they're in.)

And SJ needs 6 - even with a potential 8 playoff points coming from BR. Speaking of, they could almost join the Blue, pick up four blowouts and 28 playoff points. Schedule 5 CPS teams and get in.

Nice story at Joes but it'll be a tough road from here on. As far as thornridge goes, I'd be shocked if they make it in, they've had the easiest four game stretch to start the season. What could be an interesting story is that them and thornwood have the potential to be 4-4 and a week 9 showdown to get into the playoffs. Ridge is already at 4 and wood needs to find 2 more between stagg, an out of state opponent or Thornton (who appears to be down and plays all the big boys in that mega conference). Could be an interesting week 9 in Dolton.

It would be a neat trick to be 9-1 after week 9.

It would be a neat trick to be 9-1 after week 9.

It's the Out of State Teams - many states start a week earlier and I guess some of them have a 10 week regular season. By Illinois week 9 some of those out of state teams could be 9-1 or 1-9.

The IHSA has a system in place that will only count 9 games for those opponents so Illinois teams don't get credit for an OOS opponents extra game - but frankly, I didn't understand exactly how they do it. It was some voodoo that this Voodoo didn't fully understand

It is really simple. After week 9 in Indiana IHSA stops counting wins added.
