Clean up a few things and this could have been a 55-13 win.
Thrilled to have been wrong, gutsy win to close it out.

Considering how some other big programs have performed this year you have to be happy with this road win even if it wasn’t as clean as we’d like. Colandrea’s ability to get 5 or 6 yards when nothing is there makes this offense so much better. Would just love to see him take less hits on those scrambles but that doesn’t seem like his style.

I'm glad we weren't clean.
Why?
Because when was the last time we weren't clean against a power opponent and won? Not only won, but won by a large margin?
Winning is a skill, and our team proved that we can win even when it isn't perfect all the time. How many times in the past have we had rough stretches in a game that resulted in us completely caving and finding a way to lose? Many.
It was refreshing to see.
I already knew this, and I've already said it, but our QB is an ultra-competitive gamer.
Solid win. Liked the physicality, MSU players being carted off left and right. Guys finishing off blocks. Let’s cut down on penalties and tighten up the coverage
Well he isn’t on the depth chart but since Rule was injured he stepped in his place.
Meh...Just be happy with the win. Let's not do that. There is always "just a few things" that can change the outcomes of games. But we can all play that game. I DO understand where you are coming from but that imo is what separates good from great.
At some point we have to learn how to handle some success (team). It happens too much to be a coincidence also. As I watched the first drive of the 3rd I literally told my significant other that we have to "survive" the 3rd quarter. That's a horrible statement to make but it's who we are.
Once the 4th came I knew we'd be fine when they only got 3 points. But I don't like the what if or clean up game. They seemingly lost half a team to injuries out there. We lost guys also but they lost their best player on offense AND defense.
I'm happy with the win and think we played pretty good. We are STILL a team learning how to play 4 quarters and that's NOT good.

You do you. I don't tell what other people what they should do or how they should feel or think. We observe and overanalyze and comment; it's called being a fan. I'm very happy Nebraska won.
I was happy as **** to see Genatone do what he did. We all knew he was a great athlete but it finally showed up on the field. The TD catch he had I think the LB Hall underestimate his speed. He thought he was just a short yardage FB type of guy. But once he caught the ball Hall couldn't make up any ground it was great to see .

Probably not. After what UCLA did to them it'll be hard to justify imo. Which I honestly gotta admit I don't care. I would rather NOT be ranked going into that game.

Gotta admit the physicality stood out to me. Giving Aurich a lot of credit for that. Those guys were hitting defensively.
I talked a little **** about 26 and how he was a tad slow etc BUT...when he sees it he comes with ill intentions. It's refreshing to see our DBs not "dodge smoke" Even the young un 16. The hit he layed on the back..no hesitation.

I'm not going to start drinking the kool-aid just yet. Everyone expected Nebraska to be 5-0 going into the Indiana game. It's the second half of the season that everyone was worried about. I still think we lose to Ohio State, Oregon, and Indiana, We should beat Rutgers, and as long as we don't collapse down the stretch again, the games against Washington and Illinois don't seem as tough now after watching them play. Throw in an upset win against Iowa and we could have a 9-win season. It seems like wishful thinking but more optimistic than before the season.
I think it's okay to take a sip of it. I mean, I wouldn't chug it like some of our fans are because you're right, nothing has really changed from what was predicted by most so far. But at least we've accomplished that.
What makes me hesitant is that the head coaches we face after Maryland are a major step up in quality compared to who we’ve played so far.
My biggest fear is going 5-0, getting ranked, and then getting completely boat-raced by Indiana. We've seen this movie before. If we’re ranked, IU will be fired up playing their first ranked opponent and it's at IU. Given our history with hype, that’s a bad combination. Plus, our head coach acts like a used-car salesman who jumps at any chance for media attention. If history repeats itself and he spends the week soaking up the spotlight loud-mouthing on Pat McAfee’s show he’s going to do way more harm than good heading into that game.
best thing this team can do is game by game. Head down. There is no victory laps. Can Matt live in the dark when the spotlight calls or does brother Rhule come out? That's the question
