Watch. Davis will get into a flow now that he’s got a bigger role. They rip off 2 wins and come into rupp on a 3 game streak and UK on a 3 game skid. Making it a must win for UK.
That plays out like that and Pope is going to feel pressure. Will he tighten up or will he respond. I feel pretty confident unfortunately UK will be on a 3 game losing streak.

The team looked like it didn’t give an eff

Vandy wanted it more.

I’m not watching tenn. I will check the score periodically.

Why would I give my time to a team that gives no effort until it’s to late.

Probably finish .500

Getting average portal players will be a short stay at UK for Pope unless he adjusts and gets at least one or two great players, whether it be high school or portal. Also teach defense plz!
My fear is that this would happen. Started off so well. Reality is setting in. Not enough talent on both ends.

Coaches have adjusted. If UK loses to Ark next weekend, ugliness will happen. This stretch could undo the season.

We are trending toward a 6/7 seed for sure. We will have a unique resume. Only way I see us steal a top 4 seed is to win out at Rupp and steal 2 of the road games at Texas, Mizzu, OK, or Ole Miss. That is a huge ask with how we look right now.

What? Explain? It’s the exact opposite actually.
The way Pope insists on running the offense through Amari and how easily the offense is neutralized by pressuring Amari, UK has some losses that are coming if Pope doesn’t wake up. UK if Pope doesn’t change is far more likely to be a 7-9 seed than a 3-4 seed. Most likely changes made and a 5-6 seed,

The real test for the SEC will be what they do in the NCAA. Better have a better showing than teams have done in the past since this is a "historic" season. We shall see.

"Offense is easily neutralized"

Top 5 team in offensive rating coming into the game.

Interesting definition of "easily."

Well they could very easily lose tenn and aub at home. And the only road game you can feel even a little confident about is okla

Texas has looked bad, Oklahoma has looked bad, we can absolutely beat Tenn & Auburn at home (we probably split those two).

I'm saying 9-9 or 10-8. 7-11 would be extremely improbable.

But who knows.

I will say I’ve enjoyed the early season success as much as anyone but being ranked high has put an even bigger target on our back and this is a team isn’t handling the pressure real well. I still think 9-9, 10-8 is reasonable but I’ve got to keep my expectations in check.

They just lost to a mid vandy team and lost to a mid Georgia team, so 2 more mid teams in Texas and Oklahoma aren’t wins either. With the way Kentucky is playing and with Carr being out a while I don’t see many wins

Texas just beat Mizzou and A&M back to back and has as many SEC wins as UK does

We could easily be 10-9 at this point and outside the tourney field.
My realistic expectations for the rest of the season:
Beat Arkansas
Finish above .500 in the SEC
Win at least one game in SEC tournament
Win at least one game in NCAA tournament.
Anything above is gravy.
Two improbable wins against Duke and Gonzaga.
Career game from Butler to Best UL.
Probably season best game from Robinson to beat MSU..
Team has been more lucky than good all season.

Must wins:
Ark
SC
Vandy
LSU

NEED:
@TX
@Ok

Grab at least 3 of these and still could go into Post season on a high.:
@TN
@Ole Miss
TN
@Bama
AUB
@MIZZOU

GO 9-3. Seems unlikely right now. Here's to hope. Anything worse than 6-6 and woof.

Even the AM win seems like so long ago.

I know I sound bitter but no way Auburn and Alabama should be the cream of the crop in the SEC. Roundball is supposed to be ours. If we sat atop the league in Football in place of Alabama for a year, people would be losing their damn minds

Losing kids like Wilson hurts. We still need elite talent to go around solid older players. Still have to recruit at the highest level. We are Kentucky after all and have one of the highest NIL budgets in basketball. Top 4 NIL should pull in at least one elite player a year. Maybe we still get one.

This team is going the wrong direction and look terrible doing it.

Check out the schedule - this team is going to be a bubble team unless they change dramatically.
Slow the game down and we’re cooked. In four of our losses, we scored 66, 65, 69, 69. Lowest point total in a win? 77.

Likely going 3-3 over the next six games, but possibly 2-4 😬

Lmfao. It is legitimately a historic year for the conference. You’re trolling needs work

You should see his act in the game threads. He wen't nuts one game this year and then we turned it around and won and he went back and deleted all of his negative posts. Pathetic. When we lose, he sets up camp here. When we win, he can't leave fast enough.

Oh, and he's a Duke-lover. Just killls him that we beat them, lmao.

It's all good with showing we could beat the top 10 and top 20.
Doesn't matter what seed we get as long as we're healthy when we get there.

It's going to be difficult but we're going to put this together enough to be 10-7 at least.

It's time to really commit to the 131 zone and try to stop these guys from getting to the rim. Protect our players.
Stop the man-to-man and make the zone 70% of our defense.
See what the heck will happen Got damn it!!! I mean I'm tired of watching this crap.
play ******* zone.
We will live with it better. Exhaust everything we have to win.

We are not losing to freaking Arkansas. This is Debbie Downer thread on acid.
My concerns:

1. We are banged up
2. We are soft
3. In any game that we’ve been held to less than 70 points, we have lost. Arkansas will not be running.
4. We can’t keep Thiero off the glass
5. Davis is likely going to go off in a few games. Will this be one?

Not saying we’ll lose, but that’s not an automatic W like many think.

1. True but Arkansas is missing there best player and has no depth
2. Also true, but Arkansas is probably softer
3. Not a huge concern as Arkansas is 238th in the nation in offensive rebounds. By comparison we are 114.
5. If so, still won’t be enough as they are 243rd in nation in 3 pt fg%.

Bottom line is Arkansas freaking sucks as a basketball team. If Cal wasn’t the coach, no one would be worried about this game. Which is ironic because everyone says on here how ****** a bench coach he is. (I agree). Then why we worried about Cal. Don’t let emotions cloud this matchup. UK is just better and at Rupp, forget about it!

'23 UConn had a stretch of 5w-7L over 12 games. That included losing 5/6 between New Year and third wk of January. They won 11/12 and the title, beating 6 ranked teams during that time.

That UCONN team also had 4 nba draft picks, including 2 first rounders.

I guess if your point is to be like the kid n angels n the outfield saying "it can happen" then yeah, sure.

Just don't see the same upper level talent with this group.
