Thoughts and opinion...keep it civil!!

DH Conley (8-3) @ Cardinal Gibbons (10-1) - Conley is very impressive on offense and the Crusaders will need a good defensive effort to get the win.

New Bern (5-5) @ Scotland County (11-0) - This is for my good friend @ct147 and @go_scots ....no words needed here if you have been on NCPreps.com the last 10 years....:)!!

North Davidson (7-4) @ TC Roberson (8-3) - The Black Knights may be the best 7-4 team in the state playing in the tough CP 4A. They have to play a tough-nosed Roberson on their home turf. This should be a good one.

I'll N Davidson in a blow out, A L Brown over Glenn, and Mooresville over W Meck in 4AA

The New Bern Bears travel to Scotland county for the 3rd time in the last 7 years. They have brought better teams the last 2 times than they have this year. However anything can happen although I expect it to be business as usual. Scots by a lot !

Pretty good in the first half, they have a two time track state champion at WR so it makes their passing and kickoff teams interesting. The offense is a very good passing team

Conley vs Cardinal Gibbons could set a new scoring record! Conley has set the record twice the year. Vs Rose and then broke their own record when they played CB Aycock. Friday night in Raleigh could be a news reporters nightmare!

A score in the 70's could happen

I like Davie, such a complete team. Big power RB, Superb WR's and the best Russell Wilson like QB I've seen in awhile... he's magic on 3rd down. They have 2 studs at LB on a solid defense. Easy to see how they beat Page HS

However, may not make it passed Dudley in 4th Rd.

Possibility of North Davidson vs East Forsyth 2nd Rd. Looks good at first....until you think about the Strengths of East Forsyth which is Running Game in which ND can't stop and ND QB Joe Butts would face the best secondary in the State(they have Multiple D-1 secondary players) East is hitting on all cylinders right now.

This is Xmas day for East Forsyth. They finally got rid of enough students so they don't have to face Mallard Creek or Butler....LOL

Sounds good at first but which path is easier to the title: regional final vs Creek/Butler and then the eastern cupcake or CC, Dudley, Scotland in a row?

You Scots will talk a big game this week, but deep down that little bit of doubt will ping on your brains relentlessly for 5 more days. I look forward to coming to Pate again. Love that stadium. Go easy on the blue smoke this year! See you Friday.

Either that or can he close the final deal like Williams did in 2011. NB has closed that deal twice since 2011.

Can he win a title? Two 5 star RB's and several other D1 athletes on the other side of the ball in a watered down 4A East. Pressure, pressure, pressure.

You know this will probably go on all week long. The fans of both teams will talk junk all well while the players will be concerned about themselves. Nothing said here will have any bearing on Friday night's outcome.

You still have to beat the winner from the west to close the deal. He should get it done this year. You guys are the hands down favorites imo, but you still have to win all the games. Looking forward to seeing White and McQueen in person. They look good on film.

Glenn has a great passing offense if you don't have a clue what you're doing. I watched NWG give up 700 yards passing and 6 TDs because their scheme is horrible on defense and their coaches don't know how to defend the spread attack. Glenn can't run the ball at all or stop the run because they are very weak on the O/D Lines. When they go up against AL Brown its going to be a bad night for the Bobcats unless AL Brown has a really bad on offense. I don't know I havent seen Brown play but I do know they play a very tough schedule. When Glenn has played good defenses not great ones like Mt Tabor and a very good defense in East Forsyth they were blown out. When they played teams like NW Guilford and SW Guilford they threw for 1000 yards and 60 points. Their Slot guys are fast forsure but they are really short and they struggle when teams get pressure on the QB.

Fyi east forsyth scrimmages North Davidson before every season. The East OL dominated ND. I believe after thirty minutes the touchdown count was 9 east to four ND, this game was played with East 2nd string QB, starting safety and Left DT benched on injurys they didn't want to risk before opening week. I think east Forsyth would beat ND in a full game 60+ to 30

East would be a great challenge, but we have to get by TC first. I was at the NewBridge scrimmage and don't remember the score being 9-4 (you were referring to TDs). If you only take first team against first team results, I believe East out scored ND by 2 TDs, but we are talking about a scrimmage in August.....it's the playoffs and anybody can lose on any given night. Hey maybe we get "lucky" and win in the 2nd round again this year. Not sure anybody had us knocking off the Scots at their place, but pretty sure that happened too. Maybe we pull a Pitt, Iowa or a USC and knock off the favorite. Until then, gotta focus on the first round.

good call Warhead. Brown will win the battle up front and they defend the pass quite well. they're no strangers to elite competition either. bad draw for Glenn. Brown moves on.

Plenty of blue and white smoke and it always blows toward
the visitor side. It was designed that way. I believe there may have been additions since your last visit.

As I have said for 15 years, don't worry about the smoke itself but be very concerned about what runs through it!

Yeah. I've heard the scoreboard may have the score of the 2011 game embedded in it. That's awesome! We don't have room on our scoreboard for past scores. The conference and state champion signs take up too much room.
