It is always great to see which 5-4 teams in all divisions advance to at least the second round.
Who are your picks to whom could do this?
HF and NND are both 8-1 high seeds who lost to 5-4 teams. How about:
8A:
Warren over Curie
LT over NT ???
7A:
Niles North over WY
6A:
Nothing jumps out. may be:
Iggy over RB ???
5A:
Glenbard South over Westinghouse
It is really disappointing that 3 Chicago Public League school with high see will get knocked out by 5-4 teams. This kinda screws up the seeding and provides a few school an easy path to the quarters (e.g Eisenhower, if they beat Harlem)
I give Glenwood an outside shot in 6A. They have a young Sophomore QB with a good arm who's gotten more comfortable as the year's gone on, a lot of speed, going against a team that doesn't put a ton of points up, and a longtime coach in Dan Roarke who may retire after this year.
Count me in as another who thinks Glenbard South beats WestinghouseGlenwood has been a little Jekyll and Hyde this year, but you are right, their QB has come along fairly well.Their defense gives up a ton of points against the better teams however, and Lemont is the toughest defense they will have faced this year. I have them losing by 14.
Having said that, at least as applies to 6A, they have a better chance of winning their first round game than Centennial . As a matter of fact, I think Shepard has a better chance to win their first round game against SHG than Centennial has against LWN.
Really going out on a ledge I seeCount me in as another who thinks Glenbard South beats Westinghouse
